Trump gives a ton of money to various charities and to families with tragic situations (fallen police officers, firefighters, city employees). Some see that as honorable. You stated he does it as tax write off. He according to you only does stuff for profit.

You have a kick ass collection. You like to show off your solid collection and profits. Have you donated to the St Jude threads we get going during Easter and Christmas time? If so, well done and thank you. If not, that's your choice but see how it then sounds silly to try to turn Trump's positive (donating) into a negative (write off only reason)?

While I agree with this, I would also say that we, as a whole, feel more powerful when we're standing alone. It's a great stance: Me against the world.

The problem with that is that it puts blinders on us, as citizens and as a country, because we automatically push people away who do not agree 100% with us.

There cannot be a compromise. Me against the world.

We have to work together.

I don't donate to anything specifically during Christmas time (I'm Jewish so it doesn't really matter as much to me that it's Christmas). I donate to Arizona State University, Michigan University, The Montefoire Community Center, various canine organizations specifically focused on a cure of canine epilepsy research, haddassah (Jewish organization) and various other charities. I also donate my time with the NY chapter of the ASU alumni association and in the past I've volunteered to coach some youth basketball teams.

I get what you're saying but I just don't buy the lies from Trump. The money does good so it's a good thing.

This morning he was talking about how he thought he spent 2 million on his campaign this month but his people told him he spent 3.8 million and he basically he said he didn't care because he has too much to care about 1.8 million then laughed. I'm sure there are tons of people that could've benefited from that 1.8 million he didn't care about.

I don't know about other places but a lot of legit businesses here use the illegal labor. Not sure it's hurting the business but is hurting that low skill workforce.

We've had the requisite Sureno/Norteno beefs here, but the cartel presence, while on the down-low, is strong.

that's why I like when we do the pro/con thing with the students so they can look at issues from both sides even if they don't agree with both sides

Using food stamp and receiving food stamp are different things. One can get food stamp from the legal family member. It is just that the food stamp amount that is supposed to support one person, and now you use it to support 2 people (one legal and one illegal).

Oh, of course. I haven't disagreed with much you've posted, but I see it from another side.

Like you, I work with students every day, and they are affected, as well. It's not their fault, but in a few years, they'll be 'the problem', no matter what.
