My 80's star autograph collection is at a standstill so Im showing it off...
Like many I grew up watching the game in the 80's, mainly the late 80s.
I had a few favorites of the time in Eric Davis, Jesse Barfield, Ryne Sandberg, and most of all Canseco.. When the reprint autos became popular in 2001 with Archives and Donruss recollections, it opened up the possibility of owning autos of the stars I watched on at worst, a reprint of an 80s card, at best an actual rookie card. Eventually Archives became a staple, Recollections came and went and came back with Panini, Topps added Fan Favorites, Originals and the recent Archives Signature Series, and even Leaf came out with 2013 Memories autos. There's no Harper's, or Trout's or Correa's, but I hope the fans of 1980s baseball enjoy. So, here we go. Hope the pics show ok. Mattingly 2001 Archives  Sandberg 2001 Archives (one of my favorites since I watched a ton of Cubs games on WGN)  More a star of the 70s than the 80s but whatever. Bench 2001 Team Topps Legends  Gwynn 2002 Diamond Kings Recllections  Bo 2002 Archives  Kirby 2002 Archives (one of my favorite cards)  Mr Beane 2004 Fan Favorites. Definitely not a star of the 80s but I thought it was a a cool card.  Barfield 2004 Originals  Hit King 2013 Leaf Memories (took me a while to find one of Pete)  Clemens 2013 Leaf Memories RC  Canseco 2013 Leaf Memories  Will Clark 2013 Archives  2014 Recollections Autographs was a good release for me. McGriff RC  Canseco RC  Joe Carter RC  Boggs RC  Eric Davis RC  Gooden RC  Canseco 2014 Archives  And we will finish off with 2015 Archives Signature Series Strawberry  Canseco  Not an 80s card, but its Canseco so that's good enough for me  There's still a ton of guys to go for (Trammell, Dale Murphy, Brett, Yount, Whittaker, Schmidt etc etc etc comes to mind), but in due time. |

If I ever started up a baseball PC again, I think I would collect only buyback and archive autos like these. They bring nostalgia and modern day into one awesome package.
