Default PSA quality control

Did a search for "psa damage" and "psa quality control" nothing relevant appeared on the first page, and didn't know where else to post this, so here it is:

Just got back my first submission from PSA. Of 15 cards, three cases had scuffs and a fourth actually had a scrap of paper or shred of material encased with the card.

The scuffs are minor, but the other foreign material, while small, is not so minor. I think it could lead to an unhappy buyer (yes, planning to sell). Is this standard for them? Is it too much to ask that the cases be delivered free of any defects? Am I being too nit picky?

Thanks for any insight.

I believe you send it back to them and they fix them free of charge

Ok, I should have posted pics, will do so when I have a chance. What psa told me is that they'll take a look at the pictures and get back to me in one to two weeks to let me know if they'll replace the case. Then, it would be another ten business days to get the work done. So, up to a month to repair something that, with a little care initially, wouldn't even need to be remedied.

With the recent surge on any fleer Mj cards, i bet they are overwhelmed with the number of submissions so they are rushing to slab and grade everything. They probably have like 3 million extra submissions with the recent activity

Funny you should mention fleer mj cards, because 13 of the 15 are exactly that. And the 14th is the upper deck Sp1.

I recently bought a PSA10 graded 15-16 prizm card off eBay that was recently slabbed. It has a scratch or some sort of resudie inside the case in addition to a scrap of paper/cardboard floating around. Needless to say i'm returning it, and I never return cards.. It's actually the first card i've ever returned but it's too annoying to keep when I paid a premium for a PSA10. I told the seller he should probably return it for a reslab so I hope he does.

Nine 9's, five 8's, one 10. Thought two of the 9's had 10 potential, otherwise no surprises. Actually, the 10 may have been a bit surprising, had a fairly noticeable print mark on the front.

Can I ask what years you sent it in and which one you got a 10 on?

Sent in 88-89 All Star, 89-90 base and sticker. The 10 was actually in the least valuable, the 91 Upper Deck baseball SP1.
