I'm not really a Reigns guy, but trashing him has become the new "it" thing among wrestling fans. He's nowhere NEAR as bad as so many say he is: in the ring or on the mic. You're telling me AJ Styles gives good promos? Or Sami Zayn? Or that Dean Ambrose is a great wrestler? And yet practically no one comes down on those guys like they do on Reigns.

It's pretty evident to me that those that consistently crush Reigns are just bitter because he got the belt before their guy did. NOBODY on the roster as it's currently configured could live up to the unrealistic expectations fans have for Reigns. NOBODY.

This argument has never made sense to me; as if you have no choice but to put up with Reigns. But you do have a choice: DON'T WATCH! You're not forced to tune in. Vote with your feet and walk away if you're unhappy.

As for the guys you listed, the internet would explode if Cena won again; Jericho and Ziggler would get killed for being "old guard" and getting in the way of new talent; and if everyone looked at Cesaro's promos under a microscope the same way they did Roman's, they'd see that his are pretty awful as well. Therein lies my point: NOBODY would complain as much about Cesaro's lack of mic skills to the extent that they do about Reigns.

Like I said, I don't think Reigns is a particularly good choice for the face of the company either. But the amount of heat he takes is beyond absurd.

...I'm not forced to tune in. I usually fast forward past everything that Reigns is involved in. Cesaro's mic skills are better than Reigns (especially since he speaks 5 languages), are evolving, and his technical skills WAY outshine Reigns.

No one likes something being shoved down their throat. That's druggie Reigns.

Lost in the Roman talk is the fact that the first Raw with Ambrose as champ had a *500,000* viewership increase from last week. It's a good start, but let's see how many of those people stick around for another week.

the thing your failing to realize...

i dont think anyone who is bashing Reigns, is just doing it because its the cool thing to do..they are criticizing him and using precise reasons as to why.

you bring up the others to make a counterpoint, and i get what and where your trying to go...but..

Reigns isnt "trash" or anything that level..but hes average in the ring and average on the mic at best. The only thing that stands out about him right now, is his look.

Ive actually given him credit where its due...he is IMPROVING; but still nowhere NEAR the quality level that has deserved his push "down our throats".

i dont hate the guy, or think hes a bad person..but again..nowhere near where he NEEDS to be to be in the ME as he has been and pushed as "the guy"..period.

you mention nobody would say anything about Cesaros mic skills..

you know why? because he has already been criticized for it, and still is..and rightfully so...everyone KNOWS you wont get a 5 star promo from Cesaro...but do you know what they do KNOW they will get? a 5 star match in the ring..the most important factor...

same for AJ...and yes in case you havent been paying attention..his promos have actually been improving, but is obvious his glaring weakness..but again..you know what you get with him? 5 star matches on a nightly basis

same can be said with wrestlers who give quality to 5 star promos...they dont have to be elite in the ring to get over and be worth it either.

but you damn sure cant be just average at both and expect to be the main attraction

Also, if you want to run in conspiracy theories, it's AWFULLY convenient that Roman just so happened to fail a drug test in one of the very few months that they have more than 30 days between PPVs. Did he actually just fail it, or have they been sitting on this news for a while?
