Default Cavs fan loses his job after tweet aimed at Curry and his daughter.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/cleveland...202002777.html

I'm gonna begin by saying that I whole heartedly disagree with this guy attacking a 3 year old online....that was absolutely classless and stupid.

But to lose your job over it?

Thank you SJWs for bringing about this PC culture we have nowadays where people think it's cool to ruin a person's life just for saying a few stupid things online.

Again, I do NOT condone this stuff....but to ruin a person's livelihood over a tweet is beyond ridiculous to me.

Have to disagree with you. I'm so tired of people sitting behind their keyboards thinking they can say whatever they want with no repercussions. If you're a big enough idiot to put your real info out there AND tie your companies name to your profile they have every right to terminate you when you act like an idiot and cast a bad light on them as well.

i disagree -- good move on the employers part.

your actions affect other people, not just yourself. how much negative press would that company be getting locally if they did not fire him. it did not take very long for someone to figure out where he worked, and post it online. that company (by no fault of theirs) would have been the talk of the town, in a bad way.

Look at the twitter of his employer, they saw a chance for advertisement and jumped on it. They tweeted the response to a couple outlets hoping to make it a bigger story. They don't actually care.

I agree. People don't understand but what you put out there is a reflection of every part of your life...family, friends, work, school, etc. Many on BO don't understand that either (see Wade, D as an example).

Free Speech, it's not something you can have anymore. Offensive, crude, crass, perhaps, but you're not entitled to it, you pleebs. Now get back to your job at the Ministry of Information and rewrite the history books.

So if he was your employee you'd be ok with him making a decision like that? What if he dealt with your customers or vendors? It was absolutely the correct decision.

I agree. That's disgraceful and I would be in pretty hot water myself if I tweeted some trash like that.

if you do not think a person's livelihood should be ruined over this, how about a drunk temper tantrum against a uber driver where no one got seriously injured.

You CAN have free speech. Just have to understand there are repercussions to action. You think I can tell my boss to F off and call him names and nothing will happen to me? You can't just go around spouting off stupid junk and expect nothing bad to happen.

Exactly. You can speak as freely as you want, just don't expect others to tolerate the BS you say.

How so? Do you have kids? Can your kids call you every name in the book. Curse you out and you'll just sit and take it and just say..."well, I can't do anything to you. You have freedom of speech."

The First Amendment guarantees that the government will not abridge one's right to speak freely. It doesn't mean you can piss off the peeople that employ you and not suffer repercussions.

There's always a line and he crossed it. Good luck to him on any future job interviews when they run a reference check.
