The South Atlantic League ASG was in Lexington last night.. I couldn't go to the game due to work. I saw the game was delayed about an hour so when I got off work I decided at the last second I'd make the hour drive down and see what I could make happen.. I got there just as the game ended. There was 1 guy in particular I was hoping to get...

Ended up with 2 Brendan Rodgers. Nice kid, got absolutely mobbed by the bus but handled it like a champ. I have a feeling he's gonna be burnt out before too long though..

Mariano Rivera III.. seems like a really down to earth kid. Very cool guy.

And stories like this are what make IP graphing great.. When you feel like you strike gold.. Mariano was in attendance and security kept things on lock down all night apparently. I waited by the side door I figured he'd come out after leaving his suite and he did. I was the only one in the area at the time and said Mr. Rivera could I please have your autograph? And the staff girl with him was like nope!!! Sorry! He had about 4 staff members and a policeman escorting him out. They take him out the back of the stadium and get in a van. I decide to go to my car by the front of the stadium to possibly beat him to the hotel. About the time I'm about to get in my car, I see the van stop just across the way from where I was and he gets out and gets in his personal car. Luckily only me and 2 kids saw him at the time so it wasn't a mob scene. He was nice enough to roll down and signed for all 3 of us! Awesome experience.. Got pretty lucky. To my knowledge those were the only 3 he signed all night.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I really really debated it if it was really worth the trip at a slim chance, but luckily it did pay off for me.

Wrapped up a solid week by getting a couple of my favorite players as a kid IP..

Mark McGwire

Barry Larkin.. Wouldn't sign outside items at the signing. I tried again for my jersey at the hotel and he still wouldn't do it, even 1 on 1. Still great to finally meet him though.

You may already know but he is doing a signing at Sports Gallery in West Chester tomorrow. You would be able to get the jersey done then.

I sent in a canvas, cannot wait to get that back!

Awesome! Yeah, unfortunately I can't make it due to work. If I am doing a paid signing I like to get it IP.. idk maybe I'm weird lol. I don't mind paying but I'm not real big on mail in's. Hopefully I'll catch him another time or I'm sure he will probably be around at sports gallery again in the future. Hope your canvas turns out great, I'm sure it will!

Not weird at all, I feel the same way. I love getting to meet the player and have that brief one on one time with them. I had bought the ticket and learned recently I wouldn't be able to make it so I turned it in to a mail in order. The people at Sports Gallery are the best, I recommend them to everyone
