What does 'the wax' mean? Is it a different finish on the card? Or is just the outside card in the pack?

It's actually a good question. the problem to me is it sounds like desperate justification.

Outside cards on the pack get a little wax transferred from the wrappers.

He may be going on the corners and edges and not realize where the centering needs to be. He's a breaker not a grader and people know what they were getting when they joined the break.

In my opinion, it's kind of sad to see this opened. Especially in this type of format. People are and will be dumping spots.
Because of the cellophane wrap on the box right?

$44 a card is what the board members chipped in to pay for this break

no one of note
I love the 73 set..it is by far my favorite. I looked at this break, and I could come up up with only one name that made the break worth it (I really don't care if I pull a PSA 9 Lindy McDaniel)...I have plenty of Dave Giusti's already..

Upper Deck was the game changer.

At least a single person didn't lose $11K. I for one was in at $35. I'm content with what I spent and knew what the risks were (as I'm sure most of the others are). Based on your posts, I get the strong impression you're in this hobby for the money and to make a profit. Some of us aren't.

In my mind I envisioned a Wall Street trader yelling "sell, sell, sell". But it was already to late to move on this investment.

absolutely terrible way to look at things.
You spent $35 and you got nothing you wanted in return.

This entire break was about money and the gamble so please spare me the holier than thou, this is a hobby speech

Agreed. The constant bashing was unnecessary and quite immature.

This break really seems to have bothered you. I'm pretty sure everyone knew what they were getting into.

$35 spent here for 2 spots.....didn't hit either of my "commons", but that was a lot of fun to watch!!! Would like for them to do something similar at a point in the near future!

The break bothered me because people trashed the Prospect Rush guy for months.
They destroy Topps when Tribute happens or they sell Finest direct.
God forbid a redemption doesn't get fulfilled.

not a peep for this though
