I know everyone got a private message.
I'm just putting it in this forum because I'll forget it if I dont.

BlowoutTV is hosting a 1973 Topps Baseball Box break Friday night at 10pm EDT. The break is already full but you can watch this epic box break for the entertainment value alone! This break will be historic! Honestly, when was the last time you saw a box from the early 70s broken?
7:00 PM PST

who of you bought into break?

Have three scrubs (but one has only 1 PSA 10 example and another has 0). Will enjoy watching the break.

For the price of the spots, anything short of a 10 or a very key player in 8 or 9 is a loser.

Sure, the vast majority will either get no card or an off-centered common worth 50 cents.

Yeah, price-wise maybe, but that's OK.

I would watch this but I'll be doing something much more exciting like watching water boil, paint dry, or golf.

But good luck to those involved.

I cannot believe the uproar over Prospect Rush but no one complained about this scam.
A PSA 7 pack goes for $170 on ebay yet people chipped in $11k for this break.

$17 a spot to maybe get a player to maybe get it pulled and hopefully its in unbelievable condition.

1973 Topps PSA pack $170 (11 spots)
1973 Topps set $250-$300 (15-18 spots)
PSA 8 Schmidt $350 (20 spots)

Blowout Buzz loves to pull up the Bobby Murcer PSA 10
the Danny Walton PSA 10 went for $184
The Giants team card went for $111
The Jim Wiloughby PSA 10 went for $39 dollars $39 DOLLARS (3 spots)

This is an awful awful break no matter what comes out of it.
Everyone is a loser here. Everyone

A set for 250? What condition is this set in? This is an unopened box, of course it's going to be expensive

Three. You do know a psa 7 pack means that the pack has wear to the point that it's a 7. Odds of hitting an 8 is slim to none. BBCE is also the #1 source for vintage wax. Most of the psa packs you can see the first and last card. An unopened box is equivalent to packs in psa 9 condition at the very least. Again, most of those have the top and bottom showing.

Should people have probably paid 10 times what they paid here for a psa 8 Schmidt? Sure. You could say that about almost anything.

BBCE is reasonably priced. If you would rather gamble on "unsearched" vintage wax, go for it.

Part of the price issue is the fact you are paying for the rarity of a complete unsearched box like this. There are a ton of unopened collectors out there and it puts a major premium on these due to scarcity. The single card value is rough, it's the unopened box that's worth the coin. In my opinion, it's kind of sad to see this opened. Especially in this type of format. People are and will be dumping spots.

I'm just not buying the value for the people in the break.
$11,000 was dumped into this by people on this board and at best how much legitimate value is coming out of this?

I read countless threads about ROI and people constantly about about value.
I don't buy that the search is for a PSA 10 common. They go pretty cheap on ebay.

The result is a lot of people thinking , oh well , it was only $17 so they're not that angry about it.

Did any PSA 10 Schmidts come out of this?

Dan is right, but who am I to tell people what to waste their money on?

nothing yet

a Clemente, Frank Robinson and Babe Ruth…………with horribly off center backs so far

centering especially on the back is a huge issue.

uh oh Thurman Munson on the wax
thats a stain grade and its off center

Yeah, sad and this will only benefit the handful of people that have some unopened 1973 stuff, lol.
