Anyhow, anyone doing a run of cases just keeping hitting the same few guys in every case?

I have pulled Robles, Alford, Mancini and Bregman in every case I have opened, but have not seen Moncada or Meada at all.

Yup this 100%. I never said bregman was justified at $180 BTW and expect it to come down to about $100. The one question mark is Moncada. Are values OK if he is SP?

So far so good with my 1st case.

Big hit was
Benintendi Gold /50 Top 100 Auto
also got 2 Robles Auto (base and blue)
got a plate auto (Rafael Bautista)
5 oranges, 4 from 1 box.

1 one more case to go for me.. almost wishing I had bot another. definitely a fun break.

It's different this year. Usually prices start out high on some stuff, like a $20 autograph selling for $30. This year we saw (projected) $30 autos going for $80-$90....$20 autos going for $60. Just look back at all the estimates earlier in this thread and compare those to what the autos are actually selling for.

For what it's worth, I don't know that anyone should ever trust these price prediction threads because there is no way to really predict, but since everyone was shooting so low on values here I think it was a shock to see so many selling so high.

Not only that, but color autos are selling fantastic now as a result of high base auto sales. So we are also seeing a "trickle up" effect where because a guy's base auto sells for $80 we are seeing blue auto sales over $200 which rarely happened in the past. Just very good all around prices this year.

At 275, I don't that's an "OK" value even if it is SP, trout, Harper, Correa, bryant, moncada, I don't think he should be just below the values as the latter 2 guys, doesn't make sense to me

I noticed something interesting this morning while sorting through my non-auto stuff. The Chrome Prospect Refractors all seem to have been packed out together in certain runs of cases. I only opened 6 total cases and yet have 4-5 copies of most players (that I pulled). When you figure they are #'d /499 and fall in all SKUs, I shouldn't have 4-5 of each in a small case break. Something is definitely off there and could affect resale values if certain players aren't getting pulled because they run together.

Makes ya think...is there a run of Moncada autos out there somewhere?

AS I kinda alluded to above, I have similar happenings. But I am pulling the same players in different parallels over and over. The Korean pitcher on the diamond backs I pulled 5 different number parallels of, also Norwood from the O's and Im sure a few other lesser names. Freddie freeman has come up in my cases, in Black, Purple, Blue, Gold and Orange as well. I found that weird.

I also noticed there are a boat load of auctions going off tonight of each player, so auto prices may bottom out here a little over the next few days. But I do agree with you that we may see prices many would still consider 'good' for a few weeks. Looking at the release schedule outside of the finest debacle baseball is off till 6/1.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Topps gave Moncada a second prospect auto in Bowman Chrome later this year. Not at all. It's been their pattern to repeat the best selling prospect autos. Buyer beware.

I am shocked at what Bregman is selling for...if I pulled his card I would sell immediately...he's going for nearly double Benintendi!

Kris bryant is a 375 base auto, Correa around a 425 base auto, I said below those two guys, moncada is hitting 275-300, approximately 25 % less than the 2015 rookies of the year, I don't think that's a correct value assessment as the market stands, it shouldn't be that high, even if moncada is SP, and I don't think that will maintain after this honeymoon product affect is over and moncada continues to not hit for the power that 100% of this hobby drools over.

That is what I said. People are complaining about the high prices. They just need to wait like every other release. Just like people who have to have the first new phone or tv or whatever, they pay more. Wait a bit and you can get it lower.

I noticed my Auto was always in the same spot in my case, ended up just saving that stack it would be in until the end. Was pretty annoyed on Box 1 when first pack had an auto.

While this is true for most years, it doesn't always hold up. Some guys actually increase in value from debut prices (not at all inferring this will happen this year). 2010 was loaded with underpriced guys at release. In 2012, Tavaras, the biggest prospect name who everyone knew was going to be hot, was a $35-$40 base auto, some creeping into the high $40s.

There is always a chance that some releases will debut with low prices. This is NOT one of those years. It's been one of the most overinflated debuts, but it will be interesting to see what happens in the next week or so.

I have had very soft offers so far outside of my swanson base auto which sold in minutes at a price I never woulda thought. Even cards that have previously sold at auction or bin I am being offered 25% less roughly.

To be expected, first on will be the highest usually. And as stated, many prices were insane.
