The train was led by the same pair of Norfolk Southern locomotives that brought it from Norfolk to Newport News last week.

It was supposed to travel west after the morning eastbound Amtrak train, but was delayed by CSX sending a track inspection car out on the single track line.

First train that came by was a loaded coal train heading for the CSX export docks in Newport News.

Then the local CSX train from Richmond to Newport News passed and stopped prior to the next signal to await Amtrak.

Told him I was waiting on the circus train. My car was clearly pointed away from the airport and towards the tracks. Anytime a plane took off, I was still reading my book unless a train came by.

Across the tracks, I saw three police cars converge; 1 Henrico County Sheriff car and 2 Richmond police cars.
