25 NEW signers? That's a surprising number. It will be interesting to see who they get and how many end up per case.

I wish they'd do more behind-the-scenes folks like this, I think it's awesome. They're what made SW 30th one of the best autograph sets ever.

You nailed it. Every box can't have an a lister so it's nice to see new blood.

With a much larger auto list and no relic cards compared to Series 1, I would expect several more autos per case than the average of 3 people got in Series 1.
I would expect this number to double to about 6 autos per case.
Hopefully like Series 1, most cases yield you at least 1 top level auto.

This looks to be the first set in a long time where we are getting a good amount of new signers.
Many of the last few releases have had large checklists, but they have only sprinkled in new signers.

Even FA1 gave us at most 2 new signers and the checklist was tiny.

Yes there will be several lower end signers in the product, but they will be new signers and from the movie that has sparked added interest.

Many people people will be trying to go after these autos and even making sets.

A common auto from this set will go for a decent amount, so to compare them to common autos of other sets is not apples to apples.

There should not be a huge amount of each auto out there, so hopefully prices stay at a decent level.

Even if they happen to double production of Series 2 from what they made of Series 1, that would only be 15,000 boxes.

Also even if you get 6 autos per case, only about 4 of those would be base autos.

It will not be easy or cheap to put the entire auto set together or even get all the easy and cheaper ones in fact.

Are any of the artists able to give any details about this set?
Did they have to make multiple sketch "copies" like in series 1?
How many total did they do for this set compared to series 1?
Are there the same # of artists as series 1 or more?
I think if we had some of these answers we could then have a better estimate of the production run of this product.

But still, an auto of "puppeteer #1" won't be higher than like $20-$30, if that.

Deep Roy who signed High Tek for the first time as friggin' Yoda only gets around $30 for his base autos.

I get the point with collectors who want an auto of everyone, but these low level people they will be a majority of the autos.

I for one would like to see Topps stop using a few signers on their sets, because when Ric Ollie and Leesub Sirlin are your hit, whoop de doo, $5 auto right there.

With 25 new signers doesn't the print run here HAVE to be significantly larger? These pre-order prices are very bloaded IMO.

The people who dropped $140 on pre-order for this product may be quite annoyed once release #'s start to surface...

I agree with the current prices. I can still get series 1 for $140 and series 2 is going for that or more in most places. I got my boxes of series 2 for $99.99, which is a good buy and about all I want to pay until I know the checklist, odds and production run.
At around $100, I feel it is a small risk.

Well we are exactly 1 month away from the release of Series 2 (29 days to be exact!), is anyone getting excited?

So far this is what we know about the product, please let me know if I miss anything:

100 card base set
same parallels as series 1, other than they are adding a Holofoil that will fall 1 in 12 packs
2 Short Print base cards
5 insert sets for a total of 54 cards
No relic cards in this product
36 similar medallion cards to series 1
25 Auto signers and so far we know 5 of them (Snap Wexley, BB-8 and C-3PO, Dr. Kalonia and David Acord as a Stormtrooper)
Auto parallels: Purple #/50, Holofoil #/25, Gold #/10, Red 1/1's and 4 Printing Plates
3 Dual autos #/3
2 Triple autos #/3
There will also be a Quad Book auto, but not sure if this will be a 1/1 or if there will only be 1 Quad Book in the set?
There will also be Sketch cards, but not sure if it will be like series 1 and there are copies of each sketch

Production will almost certainly be up from the 7,646 boxes of FA1, but how much? 10,000 or 15,000 or 20,000? I can't see it being more than 20,000. My guess is around 15,000, but we will soon see.

Mark Von Ohlen from Topps was on a Podcast that announced this along with the 2 new signers: Harriet Walter as Dr. Kalonia and David Acord as a Stormtrooper.

There is a link for the podcast on the Topps Star Wars Facebook page.

Also it looks like there will just be 1 Quad Book Auto, but still not sure of the print run for that card.

Yeah outside of the top few, he is certainly on the top of my list as well.

I think the biggest indicator of increased production is the fact that were jumping from 10 autographs (series 1) to 25 autographs (series 2). That's a 150% increase in autographs. I imagine sketches will be more plentiful as well and with the same amount of medallions all signs point to at least double the production #'s. Therefore making these pre-order prices ridonkulous.

There are also no relics in this product and those accounted for 3-4 of the hits per case, so we should see more than 3 autos per case in Series 2.

It will depend on the full auto checklist and the number of boxes they make.
I don't think this should be as high as series 1, so I would say it should go for around $125
Total guess at this point though.

Thanks. Did they say if it was all of 2 of the 100 cards in the set, or if the SP's are variations of 2 of the base cards, like they did with Galactic Files?

They will be numbered 101 and 102, so they should be their own cards and not variations.

Sorry, but Daisy Ridley should be in this, no excuses. I can't see a reason to order this if not.
