You can go back to 1970 and only find 2002 Ohio State and 1997 Michigan (split championship) off the top of my head. I am sure B1G homers will try to include pre-B1G championships for Nebraska and Penn State but only an idiot would do that. I'm sure they'll throw out academics as an excuse for the lack of championships.

Lmao...that site is counting national titles for schools before they were even in the Big 10 with 9 between Penn State and Nebraska. How about a true accurate list that reflects the conference the team was in when the title was won?

Last time I checked those two schools are Big 10 are they not? They are also giving the SEC credit for Texas A&M's championships so its a accurate list.

Ivy League - 47, the last of which occurred in 1927. Please stop knob shining.

Hey, the University of Chicago's National Title is relevant right?

FBS College Football History | NCAA.com

Depending on which year you look at, there were as many as four schools who claimed titles.

I'm going to say "this thread is still going" every single day as a free bump. We should at least start a new thread called "People arguing over and over and saying the same thing in a giant pissing match" thread instead of adding pages to this one since the playoff is over.

So I ask

This thread is still going?

Did a team from the Big 10 in 1994 or 1995 win the AP or Coaches/UPI national title?

Did a team from the Big 10 in 1986 or 1982 win the AP or Coaches/UPI national title?

Trying to claim national titles from schools before they were in the Big 10 or SEC is just a feeble attempt to prove how good a conference is. Obviously it's a flawed way to look at things.

It is the same thing Michigan fans spout off about national championships and all time wins. Nobody cares about stuff in 1905. How many teams were there? They were literally playing small colleges, medical schools, etc.. It is like having OSU play a full season against Division I-AA teams.

She's ignorant enough to think that these championships should count towards the Big 10 total:

1970 Nebraska (was in Big 8)
1971 Nebraska (was in Big 8)
1994 Nebraska (was in Big 8)
1995 Nebraska (was in Big 8)
1997 Nebraska (was in Big 12)
1982 Penn State (was independent)
1986 Penn State (was independent)
And then 2 random non-AP or non-UPI/Coaches national championships for Penn State

Talk about desperation to show a conference's "worth"....and I thought I had seen it all.

I was just correcting you on the incorrect stuff you were saying. Making the world smarter one poster at a time. I still think it's funny how you truly believe Vegas makes lines to get equal action and can't comprehend what they really do.

Is it too early to make bold predictions for the 2016 playoffs?

I'll go with...LSU, Clemson, Oklahoma, and Stanford

#1 Clemson vs #4 Stanford
#2 LSU vs #3 Oklahoma

#1 Clemson vs # 3 Oklahoma (3rd year in a row they meet in the post-season)

Champs: Oklahoma

Funny how you make bold statements like 5 big 12 teams can beat anyone in country then when you get blasted you say well, 5 if texas tech at home and then deny saying such rubbish even after you previous posts get quoted

Ultimately Vegas would be 100% content with 50-50 action
No doubt

Clemson @ Auburn to start the season off. That should be fun. No way Auburn doesn't find a qb this year. Johnson was terrible.

They would try to get 50/50 action if that's what they "ultimately" wanted. They don't do that for a reason though. Because they're smarter than you.

Looks solid as can be
With that said, seldom works out that way
Heck, look at preseason rankings of playoff teams this year
My prediction is you are right with 2 of 4

How about Baylor, Michigan Stanford and a non power 5 just to be different?
Wait, that would leave out sec and that ain't happening
Baylor LSU Stanford Michigan

Back to insulting people's intelligence again

That was your MO about 50 pages ago when you ripped on board members, pollsters, and committee intelligence

Things must be boring on the fishing boat or oil refinery huh?

They're smarter than me too. Wasn't really an insult. You can't be that mentally soft. Vegas is willing to take lopsided action for a reason. Like the sports betting site I showed you, most books are made or broken by these lopsided games. It's all about value, has nothing to do with "ultimately" getting equal action. Ask any bookie in the world if they make money by making sure they have equal action. They would all laugh at you.

I went back and forth with Michigan, Stanford and Baylor as possible teams in the CFP. We'll probably both end up way off....that's what great about college football.

You think LSU's qb play will increase enough to be a playoff team?

I would say my top 10 for the end of next year will be

1) Clemson
2) Baylor
3) Alabama
4) USC
5) Oklahoma
6) Michigan
7) Tennessee
8) Ohio St
9) Arkansas
10) Ole Miss

Think Baylor wins the NC against USC!!

Not sure. I am banking on Dave Aranda doing good things there and they were out on a limb pick (since everyone is picking Alabama to come out of the SEC).
