Default Got a "hover board" as a gift...

... (it is not a hover anything, cuz them things got wheels!)

... Should I take a chance and have some fun with it and be worry that I will be in the hospital with broken bones?

... Or should I just re-gift it to a younger generation?

I just don't want to end up on youtube's fail compilations!

My little cousin (11 years old) got one and I rode it for about a minute. Not too hard to get the hang of, but I almost fell trying to get off (it goes based on where you shift your weight, so I put all of my pressure on one foot when taking the other one off).

It's neat I guess, but I'd never spend $300+ for one and I'd barely use it enough to justify the cost.

I rode one yesterday just on the carpet, it's pretty easy to get hang of. If they weren't so heavy it'd be easier than bike to have on campus

I would just hope that it doesn't burst into flames. That's the biggest knock on those things. The batteries heat up fast.

Keep it and ride it so down the road you can join the huge class action lawsuite that some attorney somewhere will be sure to file...

Heard this as well. Reports of those things just spontaneously catching fire. I wouldn't regift. I would just resell it.

I think the "flames" come from certain knock-off brands. They are being massed produced by Chinese companies and those are the ones catching fire.
