A big auto checklist for next year's BDP may be a good thing. A lot of names I recognize and can't wait for chrome autos of.

How can anyone compile a list of 100 High School kids and have them ranked. is #12 really 63 spots better than #75?

Is someone really traveling from HS to HS and checking out every kid that is playing?

Austin Bergner looks really low at #29. Wasn't he in contention for top overall pick according to some?

although I agree with you to some extent, when kids are this good in today's game they are traveling all over the country to the biggest showcases and tournaments to gain exposure by scouts and colleges. That is how they are seen

John (North Carolina): Mr. Belinsky, I read your disclaimer on the opening of the chat session. It was stated guys could shoot up or down the list depending on the Spring season. Obviously the staff cannot go see all these guys play in person, how does BA track and rank these guys during the Spring.

Hudson Belinsky: Great question! We are constantly in contact with our sources, checking in with area scouts, cross checkers and scouting directors to see whose stock is rising and whose is falling. As long as we're keeping our ears to the ground, we can stay on top of it.

I was thinking the same thing.

Hoping Mason Thompson (#96, was a potential top 10) can recover from TJ surgery so he'll have great days as a Texas Longhorn.

Do they have sources and scouts at every HS? There are over 700 High Schools in the state of Indiana alone.

that would be a real bummer!

I'm fairly certain Groome never enrolls. Interesting they have Gillis so high.

He will be eligible for the 2017 draft since he is actually the age of a 2015 HS graduate.

It's quite easy with perfect game tournaments and such. Sure a few kids go under the radar, but for the most part nearly all compete in these tournaments and word gets around for anyone with potential. Huge programs like the Orlando Scorpions get the word out on their kids also, which is why you see quite a few on this list (Ragans, Cortes, Peterson, Baum, Mendoza, Myers and a few more I think just from their prime team).

Not a bad thing to be sitting on a double relic/auto of the #3 HS prospect.

No but most of these guys play at showcases where someone will see them.... Once they're seen they have guys who will track them.... 3 years ago we had 3 pro prospects at the highschool I coach at and had to send out weekly stats and practice schedules to 55 scouts

Interested to see how Rutherford does. Aren't Groome, Pint, and Rutherford (along with Oklahoma pitcher Alec Hansen) the favorites to go at the top of the 2016 draft? Several articles I read had those four guys kind of in a tier above the rest.

I would like to see how the 2009 or 2010 HS class is doing these days, that would show us how good these reports are or aren't.

A guy who scouted me from Baseball Factory scouted Castellanos. Said many inside BF had him pegged as a future all-star caliber player before he even got drafted.

Being from NJ and a senior in HS, I have heard and seen a bunch of Groome. Kid is legit, but I've heard he's had some issues off the field. Everyone says he left IMG, but he got kicked out. They found out he had a bunch of weed with him down there. One of his buddies from South Jersey told me in the summer.
