There have been lots of good young players who have had one good season only to then regress into fairly mundane players.
In addition to the guys on my original list you could add guys like Kris Bryant, Cody Bellinger, and many others....

Most young players never meet up to those expectations, but the ones that do you miss out on by thinking that you’ll buy in when his prices drop. In some cases, you never buy in then you realize you’ve missed the boat. That’s the challenge of timing your purchases and market psychology - you’ve had years to buy judge and Ohtani, why did you never do it?
Folks may be asking that same question about PCA a few years from now.
