Agreed, but I'd be a liar if I didn't say that I fall for each time and leave the theater pretty satisfied with what they've done in terms of some of the multiverse movies.

When you start to mess with time travel it opens plot holes both intentional and untentional and you're asking audiences to either understand it all, or just turn their brains off.

I thought Infinity War/Endgame were so great I hoped we wouldn't have to revisit those scenes and just move on. The Marvel TV shows watered everything down and the culling was always going to have to happen IMO. As soon as I heard Secret Wars was a possibility I just knew they'd cherry pick the good characters and ditch the rest (to make room for X-Men too). Exciting to think we might get a new Ironman, since RDJ is likely bowing out from all of it after '27.

Sidenote: This video gives me hope Evans can, even for just a short period of time, go back to being the true Captain America of the MCU. Mackie has been solid but Evans is the guy audiences cheer for in the theater...at least they did when I saw EG and IW.

You needed to change the formula and lower expectations if you were going to get rid of Chris Evans' Captain America and Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man. In the comic books, characters practically never age out. But it was always going to be the case that the original Avengers actors were going to age out and need to be replaced.

Only $10-15k? That seems low for a TC product chase card of any kind, let alone the first Jackman-Reynolds dual-auto superfractor.

I could be way off on the 10 to 15K but seeing that I've seen Jackman's and Reynold's auto cards move for under 800 each, I guesstimate the number based on SW autos too. Maybe 18K-20K if buy-it now. That said, all it takes is a few bidders to go nuts.

Hey Chrome, throwback to the Marvel sale days, trading on ePack lol.

They look bad. However, given they are Miller will they be worth mega amounts?

I'm surprised they didn't ship some out to influencers to break ahead of it going to the average Joe. Felt like I saw a ton of Chrome NBA videos prior to it being released.

It's crazy. It's what "the fans" want, complaining ad nauseum about EVERY SINGLE NEW THING since Endgame, but now they're getting it they don't want it? So the studios cave, and who knows what the outcome will be?

This is exactly why I HATED No Way Home. All it was was a giant step backwards to make fans happy - a nostalgia trip waste of a film. For some reason everybody (but me) ate that one up. It is the very bottom of the heap of MCU movies for me, which made me even more disappointed since Far From Home is my hands-down favorite MCU film.

It's funny, same situation with Star Wars.

SW Fans: "We hate everything Disney has done with Star Wars!"

*Word leaks about a cancelled Kylo Ren film.

SW Fans: "Booo Disney, we all wanted a Kylo Ren film!!"

Ultimately, people vote with their wallets. So complaining on the internet and buying movie tickets could end up being two separate things. I think the new Avengers stuff will end up selling a lot of movie tickets and put the MCU back on track.

I guess you could call it cheap but it actually does boost collectibility/secondary prices to limit certain autos.

Yup. Anyone who's delusional enough to think they'll actually get something that's plastered all over the advertising is in for a rude awakening when they open their boxes.

They do the same thing with the Star Wars line...Have Hamill on the all the advertising and then after months and months go by and 0 base autos are pulled, people finally get that there are whatever, 4 or 5 of them.

I'll go ahead disagree with that. There really is no collecting of anything that only has 4 total cards, haha. I mean, sure, some rich guy will put the set together and yes, that'll mean they're expensive. But collectable? I think you need to have some sort of reasonable amount of product "X" to be able to call it collectable by most people. /25, alright, sure. Once you get below /10, good luck. Not only are those items cost prohibitive, but they are incredibly hard to track down. I put together a "cheap" set of Captain America 75th blue foils /10 and yeah, mission impossible. Took me like 3 years and cost way way to much. This was before the Covid price explosion too. I also attempted the FUSM Green PMG /10 set, again, before the massive uptick in prices...never did get there. Never even saw 3 or 4 of the cards(when I was looking for them).

So I agree that it'll make those /4 cards expensive, but I wouldn't say they're more collectable because they're /4...if anything less people will be out there searching for them to COLLECT, but I'm sure they'll be out there searching for them to buy and then sell to the rich guy at the end of the rainbow

I don't know how collectable something is when there are only 4 of them. It just boosts sealed product if they don't surface.

I think this might end up being Topps most popular set yet on the secondary market. We will see. And no ePack flood might make race to the bottom hard for common stuff. Or at least not as steep of a discount we came to expect (and love!) within weeks after a Marvel set hit ePack.

A 2025 Topps Chrome SpongeBob triple auto apparently sold (via best offer) for $21.5k on eBay in October: ebay.com/itm/227009873725

You'd think the first Jackman-Reynolds dual-auto superfractor would go for more than a triple-auto superfractor of three voice actors, but maybe not -- SpongeBob is a popular cartoon.

If it were a TC Batman release and it had very limited Frank Miller Dark Knight Returns sketches, I'd agree on them being worth a lot. But his depictions of Marvel characters are not good. His current drawing style is more fitting of an 80s newspaper comic strip -- not serious comic book drawings.

I think a lot of fans of the MCU have lost trust and faith in Marvel Studios being able to put out a movie that would be worthy of the quality and appeal of the films released during the first ten years of the MCU (between Iron Man and Endgame). There has been so much mediocre content put out by Marvel over the last half decade. And they have tried to replace the original core of Avengers with a new core of characters (mostly derivative characters), and it hasn't gone well.

In regards to Avengers: Doomsday, it can't be a good sign that Robert Downey Jr is coming back to play the titular villain. He played arguably the most high-profile hero of the first three phases of the MCU. Is Marvel trying to subvert the audiences love of Tony Stark? That won't go over well with long-time fans of the MCU. And there are even rumors that Steve Rogers might be coming back as a villain. If true, Marvel is really asking for complete rejection by audiences and utter failure.
