The good - looks like the first official RCs for Chase Dollander and Zac Veen in this product.

The bad - both have been awful this season.

oops - Veen has a '21 Bowman's Best RC

And now they're $600. I agree though. A patient ripper can find one closer to release much cheaper than the Big 3. A patient reseller can hold long enough to make a nice profit once everyone starts needing restock.

Been watching breaks. The cards are hideous. Breakers/youtubers are pumping up crap autos and parallels of late round picks who are fringe MLB players. At least someone like RGL can admit it when he gets smoked. The majority however seem to pull a pitcher auto of a guy with 10 innings then proceed to lick Topps boots and act like they just hit a Wood/Wilson/Kurtz #'d auto. When you get dusted just say it.

Honestly I have given up on buying for myself anymore and have been buying singles for the past couple of years. Having said that I have bought almost a case of each product drop except Heritage and Topps chrome this year. I buy it to just flip and sell it to my local card shop for profit and use those funds for singles .

It’s a 1997 finest basketball design… but without the etching/embossing effect, these do look lame.

The set has potential, but seems like they get lazy choosing the images. For example, James Wood #300 is practically the same as the creators insert and the Topps Chrome auto card. Also, Byron Buxton’s uncommon and rare cards look like two frames from the same at-bat, but the common is a different uniform. Would be cool if a player’s 3 cards formed a batting sequence.

Just speaking for myself here, but I’m not a fan of the “big head” SSP variations they’re starting to drop into every product. Once was fine, but now it’s overused. They should move on to another gimmick.

Anyone see some boxes/cases with no autos? My LCS got 2 cases in. 1 case had zero autos. The other case had 4 total autos.

edit: it was basketball, not baseball. My bad

Fanatics has this now at $379 on their site. Frustrating since my rep reserved 5 boxes and about case for me(both max limits). Then a few days later was only able to sell a case because they didn't have the expected inventory. Now somehow they found more to sell higher.

Yeah, that seems to be the floor price even on eBay, and it's selling. I would be frustrated too though given the circumstances.

I got my 8 boxes yesterday from the $300 release and they shipped a sealed case, so that is going on the shelf until inventory starts to dry up.

I hate to break it to you, but it’s the reality of what has happened to wax prices in our hobby.

Why so defensive?

You can have a differing opinion about it.

Do people have more money now and don’t mind spending more for higher quality products?

Have the companies taken the meat off the bone for flippers, ie, the wise business move?
