While I would like Trask to be the starter, I've just heard enough that leads me to think that unless he takes a HUGE step forward in training camp, someone else will be taking the first snap week 1.

I know this; he's not going to do much worse than 33 year old journeyman Blaine Gabert. What other contenders are there? Jimmy G who shows signs of life and then falls off or gets hurt. Carr who got benched for sucking yet again despite having his best weapons ever. Barring a trade up to get a bonified first rounder, they can't do much worse than Trask. I say throw him out there and if he sucks, you have a great pick the following season. If he does great, they can focus on other needs. I am just a stickler for not drafting someone in the second round that you never intend to use, and if they kick him to the curb without using him, they will further prove how inept they are as an organization.
