This is exactly right. We chased the Japanese stuff since it was the real “first edition” of Pokémon and much rarer. Charizard wasn’t even good in the game, Blastoise was the one we chased after actually. Nobody ever built a fire based deck. Not really sure how or why Charizard became the one to chase after. Logically speaking, should probably be pikachu. Charizard never even listened to Ash in the show, Charizard was only around once to bodyslam Magmar from space lol
In hindsight, somebody mentioned that Charizard is 400k? Am I crazy or are the 3 bball cards only worth around 150k and I feel like that’s generous? So basically, the guy giving up Charizard gave up 150k in value even accounting for the cash (400k Charizard vs 250k bball plus cash)? That’s basically a fleecing he took by Sasha. Should’ve sent the charizard to goldin himself
It depends what price they're spruiking that Pop 1 Kobe Auto that has been mutilated at. |
When the US base set took off, Charizard was the most popular character. My memory may be fuzzy, but raw 1st Edition Charizards were around $500 on eBay in 1999. Some of the rare promos (Illustrator, Kangaskhan, etc) were worth more. But the Charizard was the best of the best in the US. The non-first edition version was $50 raw. I had one that I pulled myself, but can’t remember pulling it.
Additionally, this Sasha guy is a clown riding a hot wave. Akin to the IG financial wizards touting stocks as the easiest way to get richhhh. Anyone can make money "flipping" when everything goes up, even with his clearly minimal hobby knowledge.
Check where he is in five years. Probably on to the next hot topic. Him, Aoki, Fleyshman, etc etc.--birds of the same feather...it was Bitcoin for these guys in 2017, cards the past year, rinse and repeat.
If riding hot waves and becoming wealthy doing so gets one labeled as a "clown" then sign me up. I would have no problem with a few strangers calling me a clown if I had a seven figure net worth and didn't have a boss or employer to answer to. |
What do you mean you "remember"?
You're 2 posts in to BO lyfe.
I wonder what the other account(s) were he remembered seeing that with?;) |

Yeah it sounds like a tough gig right. Kid might need to change his name to cardlackofiq |

Yes I wonder. These guys always crack me up. I'm still at 100% success rate of picking out PBMs. :)!:D |

Probably the reason why I quit after only 3 months. I was thinking that I could never pull some of the most expensive cards from the English boxes that I have access to, since the most expensive ones were mostly foreign promos. |
Logan Paul last week broke a box of 1999 Pokemon 1st Edition. It cost $41K per pack, 36 packs. That break had a lot of hype. They pulled 2 Charizards. Once those come out for sale (and they are PSA 10s) I would not be surprised if they reach $1mil. Sasha won this trade, even in the short term and more in the long term.

From the few minutes of the break I watched, he dropped two cards onto the table after opening. Hard to watch. Lesser grades have fallen considerably in the last month, so I'm curious to see what a 10 can maintain. |
I'm guessing Sasha T is a BIG time name in the highest end card community. Once a guy like him gets a card like the Charizard, it IMMEDIATELY adds value to almost anything he purchases. That 'Zard just got a really big boost.
On the other side of the trade, the guy just walked out with a $100K that can be turned in to more high end Pokemon and he still has (2) LeBron TC's and a Kobe Exquisite. The both won! |

I’m sure that’s a few hundred k more than you made |
Isn’t that the Kobe that was just shown on here as magically bumped from 8.5 to 9.5. Of course he wants to get rid of it.
No. He has another Kobe Patches Auto that was a BGS 7.5 that got bumped to an 8.5 grade. The one in this trade is a genuine BGS 9.5 copy that I believe was a split purchase with another guy. There's a good chance there are multiple people involved in this trade on Sasha's side. |

Also Aoki is worth close to 100 million dollars and bitcoin is up 3x since it's 2017 peak. So no clue what point you're even trying to make with those comparisons. Also very amusing that you think anyone can just make million dollar trades in the current market. |
I’m sure that’s a few hundred k more than you made
C'mon now. This is THEcardiq we're talking about. I'm sure he made hundreds and hundreds of dollars with his HIGH card IQ. On topic, good for both sides. I'd personally take the Char 10. Could sell it, buy back what you sold off and have 150k-200 instead of 100k. On the other hand, if you told me I had to KEEP one side or the other...I'd much rather keep the basketball and 100k. :)! |
I’m sure that’s a few hundred k more than you made
It's many multiples below it. But I don't use IG or YouTube to promote myself...much like almost everyone who makes actual money :) |

Ha I know right. If it was that easy I'd be doing it too. And the big reveal: I can't. Because believe it or not Sasha has some strong skills/talents that I can't easily replicate! And he works hard at it too. |

Aoki's dad is the source of his career. And they got right out of BTC when it fell off a cliff into 2018. You guys can keep watching these clowns seek attention and be amazed that they make relatively small amounts of money. Maybe one day I'll post a handful of cards and you will quickly realize that a few hundred k is nothing. It only is to clowns like you :) |

CardIQ probably just getting ready for his BK shift tonight and feeling extra upset he couldn’t make all this money in a bull market
