Default Got to meet my childhood idol and PC guy, Steve Young today!

Living in Ohio, it's not like Young does a lot of public appearances near me. So, when I found out that he would be signing at the hall of fame during enshrinement weekend, I knew I had to go. Took off work Friday just to buy the tickets. I got 2 premium tickets for $300 total ($150 a piece). You could not purchase inscriptions, which was weird since the HOF has done so in the past. Was first in line when he sat down to sign. Unfortunately, he was late so while I was up there trying to spark a small quick conversation, his handlers were seeing if there was anything he needed. For the most part he was pretty nice, though he was slammed with lots of people and things in his face when I was up there. Anyway, on to the scans. The first item I brought to get signed was a Mitchell & Ness 1995 Throwback Pro Bowl Jersey. He signed it with my silver paint pen, even though he almost signed it in black sharpie. I asked if he would do a "7X Pro Bowl" inscription (also had it indicated via post it note), but he didn't. But still, it looks pretty awesome!

Now my favorite! I was able to snag an Authentic Throwback Helmet (1996-2008) for relatively cheap on eBay. I had some post it notes indicating where I wanted him to sign and what inscriptions I would like. He completely blew me away with what he did, and I'll let the pics speak for itself!

Not 1, not 2, not 3, but all 4 inscriptions I asked for! I could not believe it. I will truly cherish these and the memories from today until I die. I hope everyone here gets a chance to meet their heroes and look forward to hearing their stories as well.

Thanks for reading!

Mike

Doesn't get any better than that for a player collector. Awesome adds to the PC

That silver signature looks outstanding on the blue background, glad he got the right pen.

I was fortunate enough to run into him back in 1996 while I was a lowly barista at a Starbucks. He was very friendly and had a great sense of humor. Good to hear he's still a gracious fellow. He was one of the best of all time.

I have been waiting for Steve Young to come back to Chicago for a card show for over 15 years I believe. I have a BYU jersey to get signed and the last time he was here, I was all ready to go and the night before my grandfather was put into the hospital. I chose to stay at the hospital and be with my family. Since then he has never been back, not even to the National.

I'm very jealous that you got to meet him and get your stuff signed. Congrats and enjoy.
