Default 2024 Topps Super Star

First time buying soccer cards. I started following the sport because my three boys love everything soccer and playing FC24 and FC25 on Switch and PS5. It's a fun break, and the 90's style inserts are cool-looking. Can't beat pulling a Messi #/99. I have to research some of the MLs players as I'm more familiar Premier League and LaLiga. Not bad for a $75 box. First time visiting OPC Baseball in tiny Caldwell, TX, near my hometown of Bryan/College Station. #goat #opcbaseball #mls #messi #topps

The nice thing with this set compared to the MLS flagship set that it (apparently) replaced is the replacement of the 30 Team cards with more players. Still, it's less than 7 players per team on average.

Topps and/or MLS have never been great at checklist construction. Just looking at this year's Gold Cup, Arfsten, Berhalter, Freese and Harriel are not in the Superstars set. Q. Sullivan has an auto, but is not in the body of the 200 card set. They get a pass for Freeman.

The saving grace for the set is the inclusion of Patrick Agyemang. He is not in Finest/Chrome , so if he ends up being on the 2026 roster, there will be at least one USMNT "rookie" that will be of interest from this set.

Superstars is aimed at and for children, it's a gateway product, not really for set collectors so I'm not sure checklists is really their priority.

Low-end, high-end, either way, they are horrible at building a MLS checklist.
