As far as I've seen or heard, the VIPs get access to the floor at 3:30pm on Wednesday, so just a half hour early, same as other days.

direct from the National VIP site

https://www.nsccshow.com/vip-instructions

If you check in on Wednesday before 4PM, you will be directed to the VIP Reception which will be held in the lower concourse ballroom at the Convention Center that you will enter from Room #1. Your VIP badge is required for entry. There will be light refreshments, prize drawings and the chance to get free autographs from, beginning at 2:30 PM. Tristar Productions will have items on sale at the Party if you need something for these players to sign.

At 3:30 PM, VIPs will be permitted on the Show Floor

Yeah I saw that.

I was asking like what is the “party” part I guess. Seems like a waiting room if it’s starting that early.

I'd call it more of a reception than a party. Usually they have light refreshments, which are gone super fast. Hang out and wait around is really what it is. They will have a couple of 'free' signers. They pretty much just corral everyone in one room until the show opens to VIPs at 3:30.

I didn't even get to go to it last year because the line to pick up the 'VIP badge' was wrapped around the entire lobby. I actually missed the show opening as I was still in line along with everyone else. Hopefully this is improved for this year.

It's probably just their way of thinning out the line, which I think is awesome. You could go at 9am to grab a badge and then just come back at 3:30 and be all set to enter.

So I noticed they are going to have Steve Sax and Doc Gooden as signers, and it says a CHANCE to win Free Autographs -- does that mean to get an Auto from them at the VIP party at 230 you have to win some sort of raffle or if you are there you get one type deal?

They are free signers at the party. 1 item per person each time thru the line.
However, they sell a ton of VIP badges, so getting thru both lines can be a challenge in the allotted time. Usually they have 3 signers so they may add someone else. Last year the CHANCE drawing for items Ludex or Tri-Star, I don't remember which, had on hand already signed.

Yes, the lines are usually long for the three signers, but it does move decently. I usually can get through two of the lines by the time the doors to the floor open. The signers stick around until 4:30 or 5:00, so if you don't need to be on the floor 30 minutes before the general public, you will be able to get all three signers (I also confirmed there is still a third signer this year, TBA soon). They say 1 auto per person but loosen up by the end, so you can usually get 2 or 3 or jump in line again (again, if you are willing not rush into the show as soon as the doors open).

As for the prizes and chance to win free autographs, the last couple of years Pristine Auctions has done a raffle with autographed items as prizes, along with occasionally handing out envelopes with random autographed 8x10s.

On a Facebook post from 2 days ago, folks were asking and the NSCC replied:

1) there will be a third VIP Party signed, announcement "soon", and

2) Check-in and room availability starts at 900am, Signers start at 300pm, food is served starting at 230pm

So maybe I was misinformed but I thought Weds was a preview only for VIP, I didnt think general public was able to access the show until Thursday but perhaps I am wrong. My wife and I both have full VIP access so we are excited. Especially excited for Doc Gooden at the VIP party one of our all time favs, iconic player.

Anyone can buy a GA pass for any day. VIP just gets you in 30 mins earlier.

Really not much advantage to VIP unless you want signings. Parking pass I’m hoping gets you closer parking.

We're always one of the first in line to get into the VIP lounge. Based on year's past, I don't see them opening the actual lounge at 9AM, only the lines to get your badges. We'll see though.
