Default Cryptozoic A Christmas Story: Marquee Trading Cards

Now this is the kind of set I can dig into, a box that has one autograph AND one sketch card per box:

“You’ll shoot your eye out.” Join Ralphie as he ignores these immortal words, navigates bullies on the way to school, says his first curse word in front of his dad, and is denied his Christmas wish by Santa in this trading card set based on the beloved movie A Christmas Story.

Cryptozoic’s first Marquee release—trading cards celebrating classic movies that have captured the public imagination for years—arrives right in time for the 40th anniversary of this holiday staple for audiences around the world.

A Christmas Story: Marquee Trading Cards include a 72-card Base Set with imagery pulled directly from the film, three uniquely themed Chase Sets, randomly inserted Single and Dual Autograph Cards featuring on-card signatures from the film’s stars, one-of-one Brilliance Cards stamped with gold foil, and one-of-one Sketch Cards.

One auto per box is enticing.

I am a fan of this entire concept of making sets from the older, classic movies. The return of 1 auto and 1 sketch per box is awesome.

edit - there are Conan cards on their Trading Cards page, too, listed as Q4. Not my thing but I am all for seeing them actually get back into cards and not just be a board game company.

I’ve never seen hobby or retail boxes actually available for sale on the Cryptozoic website. They’re always marked Sold Out. Someone with a longer memory may know if Cryptozoic used to sell direct to collectors through their website or not.

As for the set, I’m intrigued. Not a huge set, just three chase sets to worry about, and a guaranteed auto plus a sketch per box. All great things. Price is going to be the key factor here, plus the auto checklist. I’d also like to see the odds for the chase sets.

Can confirm, bought several sets direct from them, mainly Walking Dead Series Two and Series Three.

Note: I think you need to be logged in first in order to see the notify me button. At least that was my experience just now.
Also, this wording makes me think no direct pre sales for this release.

NOTIFY ME WHEN AVAILABLE
This product will be released through our authorized dealers. We'll send you a notification when it's on their shelves.

I’m definitely interested if anyone gets their hands on these.

Thank you for this shoutout. Hoping to scoop a box or two when they arrive.

Looks like Conan is going to be a pretty small print run. Printing plates are 1:5 boxes and 15 sketches per case with artists autos also 1:5 boxes. Distributor pricing is $95 per box.

Was hoping these were Conan O'Brien cards. Now that would be awesome!

Hahaha I checked the site for the same reason. Imagine cards of all the different bumpers he's had coming back from commercial over the years... that's an awesome thought.

And all of the different characters he had, especially from the late night days, ie. Fedex Pope, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, The Interuptor, Preparation H Raymond, etc. lol

I imagine the checklist is all the kids, as they've signed a ton at conventions and also have signed for Leaf. Peter Billingsley signs a ton. Unfortunately, the actors that played the parents have passed away.

Great potential to be a comprehensive checklist.

Darren McGavin, Melinda Dillon and Jean Sheperd cuts would be amazing.

Sets like this are just an absolute 'no brainer' for the return of "Totally Fabricated" inserts.

They could purchase any of the multitude of Leg Lamps and use those pieces.

Other "Totally Fabricated" ideas:

Metal pole
Bunny suit
Santa suit
BBs
Shipping crate
Turkey
