Default When was the first Super Bowl you remember watching?

And who were the starting QB’s?

Mine was 1981.

Jim Plunkett versus Ron Jaworski.

Same for me - I wrote down each score change during the game in a notebook and talked non stop the next morning on the school bus about the Fridge's touchdown.

Do you remember the starting QBs without searching?

I started at the dawn of the 80s, watched the 1981 NFCCG at a party my parents brought me to... but the game that really is burned in there where I remember being super invested and have memories of watching every play was the 1984 SB between Montana and Marino.

1991 season so 1992
Redskins/Bills

Rypien vs Kelly

I was in 1st grade. My dad's brother was a huge redskins fan so I remember having a bunch of family over to watch.

1988 (1987 season) Broncos vs. Redskins - Doug Williams vs. John Elway. I was 7 years old. I lived in San Diego so one day after school my mom took me and a friend to Jack Murphy Stadium to see the field which had already been painted for the Super Bowl. Awesome memory. Then we watched the game at home and watched the Redskins absolutely light up the Broncos. It was my introduction to Williams, Ricky Sanders, Gary Clark - and I have 204 burned into my mind - the number of yards Timmy Smith ran for, which I think is still a SB record.

Niners vs. Broncos - i remember i was aware of the nfl and knew who joe montana was but really didn’t know too much about the nfl at that point. What a blow out that one was!

I remember the next two super bowls (definitely remember wide right) but it wasn’t until XXVII cowboys vs. Bills that I watched a Super Bowl that I actually remember following the whole season. That was the first season that I would say I actually followed and watched the NFL.

I have some memories of the Super Bowl between the Niners and Dolphins following the 1984 season, but they are faint memories. I grew up in the SF Bay Area, so that would make sense to remember some of that game. My most vivid, clear early memories of the Super Bowl were of the Giants vs. Broncos, following the 1986 season.

He's the only Super Bowl starting QB with 0 completions.

Put some respect on the man's name.

Super Bowl XIV. Vince Ferragamo Vs. Terry Bradshaw

I have a picture of 7-year-old me sitting in front of the TV Indian style wearing an L.A. Rams helmet

Bengals/49ers, 1989. Montana and Boomer. The game was played on my 9th birthday.

It was a really fun day: I had just come in from playing outside with my old 49ers football (I lived in TX...no idea why I had a Niners football) and my birthday dinner of stromboli was nearly ready when the game was getting started.

I decided (because of my football) I'd root for the 49ers. My mom was teasing me, calling me the "kiss of death" when it looked like they were going to lose. Then came "The Drive," all of which I missed because I was in the kitchen talking to my grandparents (rotary phone because back then most of us still didn't have cordless ones), who had called to wish me a happy birthday lol.

I do remember feeling great satisfaction that the Niners won and I got to say, "in your FACE!" to my mom (because that's how we talked in the 80s heh).

1989 XXIII 49rs vs Bengals is the one that I truly remember. I would have been 9 years old as well, although not my birthday. LOL

Montana vs Boomer
