New to the Forum from Colorado!

Hello!

Excited to be a part of this forum! I heard about Blowout Cards from a few sports card podcasts. I believe it was the Cards to the Moon podcast where I heard about this forum first. They do a great job in delivering solid content in an entertaining fashion. I currently live in Colorado Springs with my family after moving here from NY about 20 years ago.

I collected as a kid (junk wax era!) and got reinvigorated in the hobby in October 2022 after finding my cards that I collected from that time while visiting my parents in our NY home where I grew up. Funny enough, as a 10 year old I did have a cardboard box of cards labeled "Investment Cards". I enjoy both collecting and investing. Overall I truly enjoy the game of baseball - playing it growing up and also living close to Cooperstown in Upstate NY for awhile. One of my favorite memories is getting a card signed (ProCards I believe) by Bernie Williams in-person during his prospect days (before 1st Bowmans!) and then taking a few pitches from him during a baseball camp I went to in the summer. I still have that card!

I'm a big Yankees fan so I'm all about Judge, Cole, Jeter, Bader, Rivera, Domniguez, Volpe, Mantle, etc. I also enjoy collecting non-Yanks baseball players who I truly respect and ones I'm in awe of such as Trout and Ohtani.

2) Shohei Ohtani 2018 Red Optic Auto White Box 1/1 PSA 9
3) Mickey Mantle Topps 1966 raw

5) Derek Jeter 2000 Topps HD Auto BGS 9.5 Auto 10

I'm fascinated by how much the hobby has evolved in the last 30 years and intrigued by the variety of subjective interests. Looking forward to engaging in some great hobby dialogue! And if some opportunities come up to discuss buying, selling, trading then that's great too.

Welcome! I grew up in Colorado and my wife went to school in Colorado Springs…I also have taken a couple of longer breaks. Maybe I am getting older but it seems like
I take a month vacation and the hobby has changed!

Good luck with coming back to collecting. BlowoutCards is definitely a great forum
