When I was a kid I had a binder for my "good cards". When I got back into hobby a few years ago it seemed like everyone was saying binders are terrible and you need slabs, top loaders, one touches and/or card savers. So that's what I did. And then of course i needed a bunch of different size card boxes for cards in penny sleeves, cards in different size holder etc. Then my PC was packed away where it wasn't easy to enjoy and when I did I had to pull out all these boxes and pull cards out of the boxes and it was cumbersome and unemployable. Most of my PC are $1-$10 value cards and I kept thinking why am I going through all this hassle and buying all these hobby supplies that are costing more then the cards to store my PC? So I picked up a binder and 100 sheets and started transferring everything. I kept cards in penny sleeves inside the binder pages for double protection and I feel like that's adequate for most of my cards. And now I can just pull out the binder and flip through pages and stare at 9 cards at a time and it's really pure bliss.

This is the way. I moved my pc to binders and will not go back to top loaders in boxes.

Eh, my cards from the 90's that were in binders were all warped. I'll stick with top loaders. I haven't bought wax since 2020, so volume is not an issue anymore.

Yeah you can get those pages that fit top loaders or slabs but obviously you can't fit as many cards in a binder. But it's just nice to be able to flip through a binder and look at your cards.

My favorite binder now is the All Horizontal binder. I don’t bother putting sets together in checklist order any more. Horizontals go all together on pages, they look great that way.
On some checklist that goes All-Star, HoF, All-Star, GOAT, All-Star, HoF, HoF, Rookie Card with 79 career At Bats, All-Star, I just delete the lame RCs too. |

I have a binder project with all of my 80s and early 90s rookie subsets and nothing brings me joy like looking through it in binder pages.

Did your go from 0% joy to 100% joy? If you were at 0% why did you collect?

![]() ![]() ![]() I love Allen & Ginter cards. What makes the binders even better for these are the special T206 style binder pages they sell for the small A&G cards. When I was bored, I made a few Allen & Ginter style custom cards as well. Having them in binders increases my joy as well.

I think this post just changed my collecting life, and is absolutely why I have an account on this site.

They are nice, and a lot cheaper than going the official ‘top loader binder’ route with the specially made 6 pocket pages. The one downside to the ultra pro is it’s 4 topladers a page, and they get thick and stack up pretty fast. But being a binder guy myself, I like them and use them for higher dollar inserts. On the thread topic, I love binders but Upper Deck has been making many newer Marvel sets I collect in thicker 80-100pt card stock, and they are a pain to store in binder pages..but I still do.
