just in time to grade all those nfl and nba prizm base cards and get them back in 6 months if you are lucky. $199 value is going to be a lot of junk slabs again.

I felt this was coming but was at least a month faster than expected. Glad I didn't send many $30 items yet nice to know those are first in line in a couple months. I won't hesitate to send a bunch of stuff between now and end of the month. This price point is cheaper than during the month before they shut down. I don't think it's the bottom either but I need not wait on the majority of my cards to save a few bucks on a slab.

5 months...gross.

Let them beg at $10 and be done in a month.

This service good for stuff one can forecast to sell at a decent ROI next spring and beyond. Value pricing is a bit of a long game/for the grinders, not the quick flip.

Hmm so I'll be at the national for a day. Anyone have thoughts on if mailing out a sub tomorrow vs dropping off at national at the end of the month will result in a substantial difference in card return times? I feel like a lot of large piles of cards will now be going at this price point and a few weeks earlier in the door could make a big difference.

CSG must have thrown up when they saw this. SGC has to drop their $30 fee soon. Both companies add minimal resale value, they can't continue ignoring that and charging their current fees. PSA could probably put competition out of business with a drop to $10

Boy, I am not sure if CSG and SGC can continue to operate in 2023. We all know it is a race to the bottom re grading fees.

I wouldn’t worry about SGC considering they’ve been around for so long. CSG on the other hand is in big trouble

SGC is $23 through most groups

Yea, I've decided on that. It will just be a very large sub and makes me sweat a little mailing that many cards at once in case something goes wrong.

This is great for PSA and even greater for the consumer. I don’t mind waiting 6 months to get back PC cards. And even for the cards I’ll get rid of, there’s no rush like there was before.

At $199 declared value limit, it could be an upcharge trap for many.

Good to see the price come down, but at $18/card it needs to be $499 declared value to really make me feel confident in sending in a larger order. And even then I think the sweet spot will be $15/card at $499 declared value limit.

As an example: a card that would work here, and that I'm looking to grade, is a 1987 Leaf Greg Maddux rookie. It has a really great shot at a 10, but could get a 9. A 9 sells for ~$100 and a 10 sells for ~$1000. If I hit my low grade, I make money, and if I hit my high grade I don't mind the upcharge. If I hit an 8 for some reason, I may break even.

There aren't many cards that meet this set of criteria, and it's the scenario I've outlined above that makes sense at this price and value limit combination. For that reason, I don't have 20 cards to grade that I'd consider for this special.

This special will eat up a bunch of demand, and it'll elongate PSA's need to reduce pricing further in the near-term (for the remainder of this year), but beyond that I don't see it solving for the inevitable need for price and value limits to find their proper balance. My opinion on that is $15/card at $499 declared value.
