Default 1933 DeLong

If there happens to be an expert on the 1933 DeLong set on the forum, please reach out via PM. I picked up a Charlie Gehringer for my PC -- the seller has thousands of good reviews eBay and a 2 week return policy, but I'd love an opinion from someone who knows the set well. Thanks!

Absolute classic set.

Post up the card or the Ebay auction.

I can help.

Here is the card -- I'm the stereotypical guy "who's been away" from collecting, but I've got a 10 year old son who has gotten really interested, so some trips to the card shop rekindled the fire a little bit, and I've been picking up a few things with the intent to hold long term. We're Tiger fans, so I'm doing a set of Tiger HOF'ers.

Anyway, something about this card feels a little too nice to be true, and I'm just curious if it looks authentic to people who know the set well.

The corners have been artificially lightened just a bit but the card is authentic.

There's also something strange going on with that right edge, closest to the stadium. It looks like someone has erased something.

It looks good based on the scans you show.

The overprinting is correct and the halftones seem correct in the image of Gehringer.

I'd feel confident bidding on it based on those scans.

The Net54 forum is great for knowledge on old cards too, I've used them for feedback on some stuff before

Thanks to everyone who responded -- those were the scans that ran with the listing. I just took these on my desk -- I received the cards today. I appreciate the feedback and the willingness to help.

I'll check it out -- I'm digging poking around with vintage stuff, but I have a lot to learn about authentication and it's keeping me from pulling the trigger on stuff because I don't want to get burned.
