Default Potential changes to baseball being floated about.

I’ve heard several different things being thrown around.

Universal DH
Split seasons-kind of how it was during the 1981 strike season.
16 teams in the playoffs.

What are some things you think could be used to improve the status quo? Once the world gets back to normal.

I just hope 16 playoff teams doesn't become the standard. 8 per league is way too much

Same. Baseball playoffs are great, whereas the NBA drags on and takes forever.

Love the DH.

I might be in the minority, but I'd like to see replay reviews gone.

16 team playoff is an inevitability. The owners will demand it as a fixture for the next CBA.

I second that. I hate seeing a play get reversed over a small detail. I get the idea of changing the really bad calls but more often than not we wait while they pause the game to change a call that was within inches. Not worth the time or effort. Baseball was great for over a hundred plus years why change it.

DH is garbage, as is 16-team playoff (during a normal season), it would make 162 games mean even less.

I'm an NL guy, and hate the DH, but I think I could maybe eventually stomach that one compared to the others.

16 teams playoffs? Please god no

There's plenty of times they still get it wrong after all that.

Stand around. Watch guys with headsets. Talk about pace of play.

It gets rid of the fun of watching Managers lose their minds.

I also agree with this, I hate the microscopic his pinky and jersey came off the bag so it's reversed nonsense

Yeah, that's a good point. And I don't even think that was in the nature of the replay review rules. We've gotten so technical with the game, but I really don't think it's better.

Also, the replays also give umpires less incentive to get the call right. Challenging the best of the best (which MLB umps are supposed to be, right?) makes them better. We've done the opposite. If you get it wrong, eh.. It's OK. We can fix it.

I will riot if they put a man on 2nd.

That is my limit.

I'm all for the universal DH, it creates so many more prospecting opportunities.

I think this is spot on.

It makes the game less entertaining and it takes longer.

The manager tirades May make the game take longer, but everyone loves them.

16 team playoff is insane

10 is already too many. But I can at least live with it, and admittedly, the WC game is fun

I'm excited for robot umps. The talented players that really know the zone will get their due boost.

16 team playoff going forward would be a travesty, especially if they don't cut down the number of regular season games. Home field advantage means very little in the MLB compared to the NFL and NBA. Would likely see teams utilize load management with more days off for position players and maybe permanently moving to a 6 man rotation.

How about start with a 1-1 count to speed up games?

Lets just implement Ghost Runners, 4 foul balls = an Out, and a mercy rule if you're up 7 by the 5th inning, game over.

Universal DH is something im strongly against.

I don't have well reasoned/thought out reasons, but it will make me furious, possibly even trigger me.

Sounds good. Anything to get game times under 2 hours and get fans interested again.

Nobody’s going to watch a meaningless regular season when most teams make the playoffs, and nobody’s going to watch the first couple of rounds of the playoffs either.

The other disgusting change: uniform advertisements. Time to go back to listening to games only.
