Elvis: Milestones (Press Pass – 2010). Was there only 10 ever created?
Lady Death: Night Gallery (Comic Images – 1999). There were only 200 total sketches, and sketch cards were still in their infancy, so don’t expect a lot of these to pop up. SpongeBob Squarepants Premiere Edition (Topps – 2009). Found 1:151 Retail packs. This one stings because most cards sold only $25 out of the gate, but I kept waiting for a rare pose, or unique character. I should have grabbed any and all of them. What sketch card sets do you consider the rarest to surface? |

I had no idea Spongebob cards had climbed in value so much. . . wow.
Transformers Armada is probably the rarest sketch release I've ever owned -- had 2 of them at one point, but had to sell. |

I thought about Once Upon a Time before I opened the article. I managed to win one from George on Twitter a couple years ago, didn't realize how desirable they were til I looked it up.

I used to have a once upon a time sketch, not sure if I sold it or not. Pretty sure it was a Desbois

1:151 retail packs means there are probably a lot of sketches out there. Those are pretty good sketch odds for retail. I imagine a lot of them sold to kids at Wal-Mart and Target and got thrown in a drawer somewhere or tossed by Mom. Kids don't buy as many trading cards these days, but anything stocked near the checkout lanes that features a cartoon character usually sells well.

Fun topic. Love the breakdown. Busted tons of Disney treasures with no luck over the years.
We’re those Simpson sketches pack inserted or redemptions? |

Andy Price 9 panel sketches from Marvel 75th (or 65th...don't remember the set exactly)...those things are amazing. I'm not sure if they were all pulled.

Personally, I’m a RoboCop fanatic and in a Family Guy Inkworks advertisement I saw a Nar! sketch of Stewie as RoboCop that I would have loved to own. Never saw it pop up. I wonder if I missed it on eBay, someone pulled it and kept it, or if it’s in a pack in someone’s attic haha.

Any pics of a TF armada sketch? I didn't even know those existed! I pulled an autograph redemption and sent off for it but never received it.

Steve Ditko 1993 Defiant Comics "Dark Dominion" sketch cards.
https://forum.cbcscomics.com/topic/6...-sketch-cards/ Sergio Aragones Wildstorm 1995 "Groo" sketch card https://www.newsfromme.com/2001/07/28/card-sharks/ I pulled two Disney Treasures sketches, both full color. One was Series 3 and the other from the Holiday set. The Holiday was a redemption I got in (by telephone!) just under the expiration date wire. I no longer have either, but both were beauties. The series 3 was Dumbo which I sold for $1,000 The Holiday was Tinkerbell, which I sold for $800, but I think that would be worth more now, especially since I had the redemption card with it, which was just another blank sketch card with a redemption details sticker on it.

Interesting, I didn't think a Dark Dominion sketch ever surfaced. . .
Another one is the Jeff Smith Bone sketch. |

If we're talking specific artists, Simon Bisley did 5 pack inserted sketches for Mars Attacks: Invasion, and I don't think he ever even asked for any returns.

The simple laws of supply and demand.
Disney Treasures featured extremely hard to pull cards (supply) of extremely popular subjects (demand). Imagine pulling one of these beauties by Lisa Temming from Series 2. ![]() It's hard to argue each isn't a $1,000 card, especially the Donald Duck holding a sketch card!

Star Wars Rebels was a retail only set that has sketch cards that were pretty rare hits that went for a premium once:
