Default Hot Sauce

There was a hot sauce thread a while back. It contained many votes for the popular brands, like Frank's, Tabasco, Sriracha, etc.

This is not that thread.

I'm curious who's into REALLY hot sauces. I've got a coworker who has been building a collection of sorts at the office. As such, I've thrown him some money over the last year or so (these bottles ain't cheap), and gotten to try new things and build up my tolerance.

My favorites so far:

3. "Why?": Made by a company called Angry Irishman out of Bowling Green, OH ... this sauce will leave you asking that question. Mixture of reaper, scorpion, and ghost peppers. Good flavor, super hot.

2. Ritual: Made by Hellfire out of Lake Geneva, WI, this one's made from scorpion and orange habanero peppers, and a crap ton of fruitiness! Mangos, papayas, mandarin oranges, etc ... and because why not, a dash of spiced rum. Excellent hot, fruity sauce.

1. Painapple: Pex Peppers, Pueblo, CO. This is the sauce that built up my tolerance and made me come to enjoy very hot sauces. It's mainly just reapers and pineapples, and man ... it is HOT and it is DELICIOUS. I believe this is the hottest sauce I've ever had ... one where you need to make sure you don't eat too much for fear of what comes later.

Anyone else out there enjoy real hot sauces? List 'em up!

I like to make my own

Superhots are awesome. I have found that the natural growing peppers (ghost and scorpions, especially) have the best flavor.

Awesome! Do you make sauces, salsa, or both?

Sauces. With salsa I just end up buying the mild ones and adding peppers to it. Peach bhut's are fantastic in salsa. I like the fruitier peppers.

Sauces are fun to make, and pretty simple. And if you have enough vinegar, they last forever. I'm with you on the pineapple. That was one of the first ones I made.. think it was based around 7-pots and pineapple. Maybe I'll send you one if you sign a waiver that says I'm not responsible for 3 or 4 year old sauces.. haha.

Man.. those reapers. I cut off a TINY sliver of one, ate it, and wanted to die. First and last, LOL..

I really want to try Truff hot sauce. I keep seeing the ads but can’t justify spending almost $15 on a bottle of hot sauce.

The Flame Broiler has this hot sauce and its pure magic when mixed with their Magic sauce, which is like a sweet sauce. Not a big hot hot sauce person but enjoy that one.

not a hot sauce but I tried some peanuts from Death Nut challenge 2.0. Tried 1,2 and 3 first and they were hot. Decided to try the level 5 one and it was ridiculous. Felt like my head and ears were literally on fire. I will never try something that hot again.

Was looking for a hot sauce thread and found this one.

Been using this lately, usually add a couple drops to my Tomato Salad or some hummus:

I should say, I didn't pay that price for it. That was a resellers price.

Suddenly I’m more curious as to what rman’s hot sauces were like.

Is he doing alright?

I was generally worried about him.

He's good, far as I can tell. I think a lot of what we saw here was just an internet persona.
