Default Anyone else ever look back in their old Photobuckets and get sick..(SCAN HEAVY).

Over what you used to own but let go for pennies compared to their worth today. Just made the mistake of doing that. Ugh...

LOL @ this combo... but still..

And it goes on and on and on ..and this is just my basketball section..not even football or baseball

On another note, it makes me so dam* sad that panini has a monopoly. Competition between the companies made for some absolutely BEAUTIFUL cards a decade ago...

I didn't start collecting basketball as an adult until 2013. Almost all of my regrets are Giannis-related. A bit of McCollum, too. I'm sure there will be more, but at the same time, DAMN I got good money for Trey Burke and Michael Carter-Williams!

Definitely agree that most of us have been on both sides of this equation over time. Whether you're "prospecting" or not, if you ever opened up any serious quantity of wax AND didn't keep every single card you pulled, I'm pretty sure that both types of experiences will apply. I enjoy hearing the sorrows get at least somewhat if not completely balanced out with joys, and hope that other posters will also share both sides.

Edit: By the way - great pictures and cards OP!!!

That's still huge money though. I wouldn't feel TOO terrible although I guess they are what double that now? So I get it.
The first Jordan in my OP I sold for 900.00 in 2009
It got up to 10K a few years ago during the jordan mania. Made me want to cry.
Also that Durant Bowman Sterling Red Refractor RC.. sold it for MAYBE 20.00 after release.
It's got to be close to 500.00-1K now.
Oh wellllll

I don't allow myself to get too upset - because I made money on almost all this stuff - but it can definitely still be painful. Won't go back and dig through scans as it might send me over the edge.

LeBron SPA 9.5/10
LeBron SPA PSA 10
LeBron Ultimate 9.5/10
LeBron SPA (6X raw copies)

That right there today if you believe sales (some of which I think are shilled to death) is like $50,000 that I probably got $15,000 for.

I started collecting again in 09-10 and had a bunch of Steph Curry, James Harden and Blake Griffin rc autos from classics (one of my favorite sets). I sold them super early and super cheap, while I kept Tyreke Evans and Brandon Jennings...still having nightmares lol

I sold one of my favorites (Harper/Trout dual 2013 tier one auto) for 1300. Bought for 400. I used that money to upgrade my truck.

There are a few cards that I used to own that cause me great pain when I think about them.

At one point, I was completely fed up with how much money I was wasting on cards and decided to get out. I thought it would be a good idea to delete everything from my photobucket account to really stick it to myself. I regret that so much because it would be really cool to look back at the collection I used to have when I didn't actually care about having money.

I hear regrets on this forum every now and then and I say do you regret what you currently own or worse own nothing now? If you're happy with your collection today, then the past timeline of additions and subtractions should be null and void since it led you to the current state. Now if you are lying around with nothing but cards you really don't want, then yes, you went off a rail somewhere and need a time machine. The DeLorean warehouse is an hour from where I live lol
