and they're now working on 3 standard orders they've had for a few months that are due in 2 weeks only just got started.

Default All I want to do is talk about COMC

I notice COMC just quietly changed all the turnaround times for my grading submissions. The high end card I spent $420 to grade in the Super Express Tier with PSA (listed as 7-day turnaround when I submitted) is now saying 3 week turnaround on the submissions page. Sent it 9/4 for 7 day turnaround. Other ones that said 15 day turnpike are now listed as 4 weeks etc.

I’m assuming most of this is just PSA, talk about being behind. And they now just added PSA being the eBay AG grader of raw cards, which I’m not a fan of, just imagine the backlog. I guess I’ll get the 7-day super express turnaround I paid over $400 to grade somewhere 3 months out. COMC if they didn’t already, really needs to change the language when you’re choosing to buy these services.

I have a question with the COMC shipping choice. If you choose the Express option.…do they ship to you via actually the USPS Express Mail (the 1 day service) or does it mean like Priority mail over ground advantage?

Also are these shipments fully insured? I entered a $6k insured value for package and shipping economy rushed is only like $9.99. That doesn’t make sense since that is far below what insurance would cost.

Havent tried COMC auctions out yet, Can you relist a card onto COMC if you win it in an auction?

Yes, if you pay with store credit, it goes right back into your account and you can relist it for sale. Just remember that you'll be paying 11% more than the eBay price due to the COMC cashout fee, and then you need to connect your ebay account with your COMC account on your Auctions Won page.

Thank you!! And just to clarify, I wouldn't have to pay the 4.99 shipping on an item I win if I pay via store credit and the re-list to comc?

Correct. There is no shipping fee for transfer via comc.

My port has gotten much larger than I ever intended it to be.
As such, I feel like I need to clean house and restart.
I know there has been talk of an alternative to a port sale where a seller runs sales with increasing % off until everything is sold.

Has anyone tried this? What were the results? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Does anyone remember the last time COMC had a submission promotion in anticipation for the Black Friday event? I'm pretty sure they didn't have one last year, and if there is a chance of it happening, it's got to be soon, I'd think...

My PSA submission submitted 7/16/2024 originally showed 45 day turnaround but now shows 12 weeks.

My CGC submission submitted showed 15 day turnaround but then updated to 5 weeks. It actually took 12 weeks to be graded.

I guess CGC and PSA have a big backlog again?

Hoping the Trump card I submitted gets back to me before the election, when the value will go down.

Yea they quietly changed all the listed grade times on my submission page- all of it basically doubled from what it was listed when I paid for the service. *Maybe* they are finally trying to list more accurate grading durations, but I haven’t recently submitted anything to know if they are giving them upfront, or it’s something they just quietly change when it’s in progress.

I answered my question…well half of it. I paid for express shipping on a card and it looks like it’s actual USPS express mail, shipped today, delivery is estimated tomorrow. Considering it was nearly $50 to ship a card I guess that makes sense. The insurance thing is an open question though. Something doesn’t add up with that.

I dont make it a habit of doing this, I'm just curious if ya'll think it's bad etiquette to make an offer on a card that the seller is already running a promo on? (in this case 15%)

I don’t think there is a defined etiquette. Sellers can have way high original prices so an offer on a card already on sale can still be in line with fair market price. Even besides that I’m not bothered by receiving offers on COMC. There are minimums set for offers, and if your offer goes through its within the window (well based on the sale price at least). This situation would not bother me as a seller.

May want to check if there are other examples listed though. If it’s a sellers comc monopoly it is always possible they may reject and jack up price.

I've been buying on COMC for years, now finally sending them a bunch of stuff that I want to cull from my collection. I'm guessing they won't be uploaded until the end of this year or early next year - I think they said around 16 weeks. Which means I won't be selling them until early February.

I'm okay with that, just wondering if anyone has any tips for a newbie COMC seller?

I believe that they self-insure rather than paying the insurance to the parcel delivery companies. At their bulk, they can probably afford to. Plus, many of the packages can only be delivered with insurance maximums on USPS ($5,000 or so unless registered) and FEDEX ($1,000 for collectibles, even though they'll sell you more and not pay out on it).

Do a search for "primer" on this board and you'll see some of my outdated recommendations. I'd say you'll get maybe half of your submitted cards in a month or two, then the rest will trickle in until January.

Cool, thanks. Will do. So I won't worry when I don't see them all in my account. I still cannot believe some of the prices that I am seeing well below the $0.50 listing fee. My understanding is that those could have been purchased from other COMC members, listed when there were promotions/sales off listing prices or have been sitting for a while.

I'm not going to get rich here, but am hoping to get more eyes on my cards and get rid of some of the stuff just sitting around taking up space. I hope it'll be a little fun too.

Thanks. Yeah it's overpriced imo, even with the promo on.

That said it is a monopoly and a card that doesnt surface much that is of barely a star player so I am willing to pay a little premium, but not that much lol.

And yeah I worry seller might jack up the price after hah.

On the off chance this is a card in my port (was running 15% off), I’ve never raised a price based on an offer (or ever that I can remember), though I will occasionally reject offers of 0.53 for a 0.60 card out of spite.

Also agree that it’s not an etiquette problem at all.

So update on my first standard and select subs to COMC: select sub of 144 cards was completed exactly 2 weeks after receipt by COMC on the due date. Received the 50% "Fresh pulls" discount for a part of my sub, so ended up paying $115 in total fees.

For my standard sub, they've processed 150 out of 155 cards submitted despite the due date being 1/6/2025. I'm guessing the last 5 will slowly get done up until the due date. Lol $75 in fees so far, so approximately will be $190-192 in total fees for 299 cards total when it's all said and done.

I've sold 86 cards so far, and I've priced them fairly (at least I think I have). Often I've priced my card 1 cent lower than the lowest price card available for sale on COMC. I've also experimented with promotions, offering discounts from 10-30%.

I definitely submitted some cards that I shouldn't have and will lucky to break even on a lot of them, though I'll just consider those a learning lesson. But from a bunch of cards just sitting in a basement drawer to over $400 in sales in less than 3 weeks....can't complain too much so far!

Ultimate goal is to sell off enough of my submitted cards till I can pick up a nice Ohtani low #'d card/auto.

Well it’s early but already not a good sign, knew I should have just chosen economy rushed, which hasn’t failed before.

Priority mail express guaranteed 1 day service sent by COMC to me yesterday early afternoon, supposedly guaranteed delivery by 6pm today, has not moved from Seattle WA. I’m looking at the product details on the tracking page and unless I’m misreading it, only has the up to $100 insurance included which is insane for the value of this high end card. So you may very well be right. And I really hope COMC has users covered for worst case situations with this.

Sent in a few submissions that are popping in. A LOT of EX-NM qualifiers being placed. I'm turning around to ship a lot of it back home. Not sure what's going on. Waste of time, money and maybe getting damaged during the whole submission. Definitely not thrilled.

From the last submission special I have 2 submissions with due dates of 10/22 and 10/24. So far zero cards processed. The past year COMC had been pretty good at having most done before the due date.
