I think fewer will burn the jumbo next week. The mini should get good action

Should I be selling or burning the stars like Tatis, Acuna, etc? Doesn't this just mean the PRs of these commons is lower and lower?

I come from the sneaker bot world and in my experience, captchas are no issue. If the devs from the sneaker bot world come to Topps, like many did for Top Shots, it's going to go terrible for non-bot users.

That's what I'm afraid of. It could kill this whole blockchain NFT thing before it ever even gets traction. And you're right about the captcha, it keeps some out, but slows down the real user so much that the bots that pass it can zip right through checkout.

That's a great business opportunity for someone who's dev savvy. Develop a web portal that prevents bot accounts from completing checkout and sell that service to websites that need it. That could be a HUGE money maker, as I've not seen any website be able to truly stop bot accounts.

Then again, at the end of the day does the company selling the product REALLY care?

In regards to epic exclusives, do folks have an opinion as to how the market will ultimately view the Independence Day vs. 70th Anniversary variation? If you were going to buy a specific player and both were similarly priced right now, which would you choose?

70th since there’s almost 10% fewer minted

Yes. For short term gains, sell now. If you can hold a few years, these will be a lot more.

Anyone see the Panini VP on Beckett today talking about their NBA NFT pack coming out end of the month?

Sorry if my comment made it sound like I was interested in trading anything, that was “railerbball3”. I have no personal interest in NFTs. I just found it interesting that someone here was looking to get out of their NFTs in exchange for physical cards. I don’t feel like I’ve seen anyone look to trade physical for digital.

Man I wish there was more effort into stopping bots. In the sneaker world, the best thing I've seen that works against practically all the publicly available bots I've seen, was adding specific text answers to questions for example or domain changes at drop on top of the text answers. Idk what the answer would be in the NFT world, but I hope something is created.

Starting 21:40 in the video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sT7lCmuNyHY&t=264s

Quick summary:
- NBA first, but with multiple sports (NASCAR etc.) on the roadmap
- Cryptocurrencies to be accepted
- Private Blockchain to be opened up to public

WAX seems to be falling significantly the last few days looks like it’s under $0.20 again.

All crypto is down. Binance is also under investigation which doesn't help. One thing I was wondering is if you list something for sale, does it have to be in wax or can you specify a USD price and the site will keep upping the price in wax?

Not sure about all marketplaces, but Atomichub lets you specify USD when you list and the wax value appears to update as prices fluctuate.

It's a good time to sell cards for wax if you think wax will come back up. I've been watching Trout and Acuna Jr. base cards pretty closely and it seems like Trout can't get up past $220 or so when that's 880 wax but then people are ok spending 1000 wax on it when that's $185.

I am not sure if this is the case for other cards - I think Trout has behaved weirdly from the start compared to everything else, but it's interesting.

I sold a couple of things today with the goal of accumulating wax. Could be a bad move since there's no guarantee that wax has to be any particular price.

Another interesting thing - there doesn't seem to be much of a crafting bump on some cards. The Juan Soto chart is a bloodbath since April 28th and there was no rise this week. The average sale on the 11th was 124 wax which was the same as it was on the 10th. It's now down to 110 wax today and seems to still be trading in that 110-120 range.

597 have been burned so it's getting close to being a sub-2k pop card.

trout prices are crazy, hard to believe a common trout sells for more than a super rare soto considering print runs are like 2500 to 170 or whatever

Soto and Betts have been insanely low last couple weeks. That gap will close

I picked up a Betts super rare because of this post (and the one before it) - feels like a good deal.

The Soto and Betts prices don't exist in a vacuum. A lot depends on the other players in the grouping and the reward cards. In the Soto case, he's mixed in with Tatis, and the reward cards don't include Trout. In the Betts case, he and the other MVPs are all lumped in with Trout, at least that's the likely grouping, so Trout will dominate the pricing and the other 4 players have much less demand. It will be non-Trout group next week that will be really interesting. A bunch of lesser players will be in demand.

Bought some more WAX today, 1st time in 4 or 5 days and went on another little spree. Bought some cheap Redux's, a Bellinger EE, some nice low mint underpriced rookies (Tyler Stephenson EE and others), another gold Ohtani because Ohtani, a criminally cheap Matt Chapman EE and some other stuff. WAX seems to have found a short term bottom so figured it may be a good time to find some deals.

I'll keep doing this as long as I have funds to infuse and as long as prices stay reasonable. I've been selling some cardboard to make these purchases.
