My question here is why you would bother doing all of this just for a dividend? You don't gain anything since the price of the equity is adjusted down to reflect the dividend at a 1:1 rate.
OK Thanks. Its just that I've only been buying fractional shares of VOO etf for about 6 months and was thinking buying a few dividend stocks. While searching saw BPMP with a 10% annual dividend. Kinda surprised a company of pipelines and crude oil would have a dividend so high.

Yea, wonder what the company is valued at. Is there revenue from sponsorships? How do they even make money? I know youtube content is big business now but public market worthy?

I'm reading the implied valuation is ~$1bn via SPAC and Faze projects $50mm in sales for 2021 (but I don't see a breakdown of what their sales streams are - my guess would be merch, digital content like YT and partnerships with brands).

Everything he mentioned pretty much sums it up. 20% of the revenue was from Esports.

It's another brand name that has a large following amongst younger people. Faze Banks (Majority owner I think, could be wrong) is huge into NFT's. Could definitely see them doing something with that as well. Nothing for me to invest into at the moment but will follow any future earnings/announcements just out of curiosity

Yikes. After the Faze clan crypto scam, I thought that shell would crumble in on itself. Not to mention all the cheating they get caught doing in tourneys, etc.

I hate that sector but a very quick look doesn't raise any red flags on that. There are a multitude of different reasons a company would pay such a high dividend. A lot of times a yield like that is caused by a share price that dropped since the board's declaration. That isn't the case here.

It isn't for me(hate the sector plus I am not a dividend guy), but that doesn't mean it's broken. Crude companies do often times have higher dividends. It incentivizes share holders to own part of such a down trodden sector. XOM pays 5.5%, as an example.

Yea idec about faze and their company. I think the valuation is crap but I expect this to get some social media hype and I’m going to take a gamble to try and ride the wave

Both of my gambling stocks up in premarket… GENI up 4% to $19.30 and DKNG up 8% to $50.56. Looks like market overall will open strongly.

Hate everything about Facebook but had to take a stab down here with a half position.

ATHA showing signs of life these last few days. I'm in this one around $10 a share in my fun account. I think it has a ton of potential long term.

In here as well. Need to devise an exit plan though. I'm up 19% right now.

I am zero for eternity with this one. I have never traded it right. It's on my no-trade list.

I should probably be doing the same for the same reason but here I am. Hoping it will go different for some reason. I don’t see advertisers putting their dollars elsewhere. A below market multiple for growth like that is just too cheap. Getting down to a mid teens multiple if it drops much below $300.

This should probably be my last chance with FB…

Can’t go much worse than me picking FDX over UPS

I dislike FB and everything that social media stands for. I think they are a terrible company up there with big tobacco in terms of how destructive they are for the general health and wellness of the people who use the product.

I hope Facebook and social media in general crashes and burns and goes away forever.

On the other hand, they are really great at making money. You're right that advertisers aren't going away. I also tend to believe that the metaverse concept is the next iteration of the internet and FB is throwing a ton of money at it and will probably figure it out eventually.

I just don't want to hold the stock and wait and see. I think there are some serious headwinds facing this company in the coming months/years and I think this is going nowhere so I don't want to own it

I’ve been on a spac kick lately in my fun account and my biggest of my 3 spac positions is IONQ. It was steady at $10ish for awhile and then slowly climbed to $12+ in week leading up to ticker change. It then dropped like a rock to $7. It’s been climbing again last couple weeks and hit $12+ again today. I trimmed a little today and am hoping it swings for awhile and then runs. It’s a quantum computing stock so it also works as a long term play and I plan on keeping it in my portfolio for next decade.

Other 2 spacs I am dabbling in are DMYQ (target Planet Labs… a small satellite company) and NGCA (Virgin Orbit) both are pre-merger and stuck around $10. Eventually… probably not until Jan 1 when I can start adding new cash to my Roth. I plan on getting those positions up to IONQ levels.

I’m also taking a bath on Appharvest (APPH). I fell in love with the concept. Made money early on. But then it dropped like a rock. It’s at like $5ish now.

Oh man I sold my F puts I bought as protection right before 4 yesterday. Netted about 3% of the share price as a gain and then it’s up good today. Love it when it works out like that.

Great quarter and guidance from them. Don’t love the dividend, would rather have it poured into growth personally, but it is what it is.

IONQ up another 14% today to cross $14. Trimmed a bit more.
