This is getting weird with all the negative takes on a guy who is currently sporting a 0.944 OPS while having an unsustainably low walk and HR rate.

If you have watched even a handful of Yordan at bats and can't see what is special about him, I don't know what to tell you.

ADHD Collectors... I don’t understand the philosophy that if a player doesn’t put up 20 HR by May and 40 RBI they are a bust. It’s insane. There are plenty of players who go cold for April May then explode into the MVP race June-Sept. Yordan is having a very productive season considering he missed time. Once he finds his groove it will get exciting. But once again, people thinking with their investment more than their fandom. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

I think the issue is how often he is out of the lineup. His home run rate for his career is great, but if you look at his rate this year its the lowest of his career.

I agree with you, if you watch him play he is absolutely special. As a Blue Jays fan I considered spending 200 dollars a ticket just to see the guy play in Buffalo in June, but to date its a coin flip whether he will play or not. He has been available for 46% of the games he should have started. Injuries a big deal for the guy.

Definitely boom or bust right now. When he’s right he’s getting 3 hits a night, but when he’s off the k’s pile up. I think tonight was at least the second time this season he took the sombrero?

3% BB rate, 28% K rate... average is due for a major, major correction which we're now seeing. The power is also a bit of a disappointment and the knees/legs are always looming as well. Been looking to sell in my fantasy league recently but no takers. Some troubling signs IMO

Dudes only played 128 games and has had 475 ABs. Yes, he missed last year due to knee(s) surgery and that's always going to be a concern. This year's missed games was substantially Covid related. His current numbers show nothing close to "bust".

As far as "major, major correction", are you talking .310 to .210 for the season? 25 games ago there were a few players hitting .400...it's normal to see AVG drop the more games into the season. I believe he has the talent to adjust and lower that K rate. There are members in here saying the umps have been tough on him. He'll be fine.

Get a grip. I’m talking about his game log this season. Multiple 3/4 hit hit games, multiple 0-4 w/ 4k’s game. At least we know what cards you own.

look at his Baseball Savant page. Nothing has changed from 2019/2021 as far as how how much he's he's chasing and how much he's missing. He's certainly not great right now against vertically moving breaking balls, but his 2019 was freakish in that regard for anyone.

About the BB% -- Of players averaging over 4 pitches/PA, only he, Franmil (7.4), Schoop (6.0), & Soler (8.2) are have a BB% under 9%. Plus, Yordan has always been well above 10% throughout his pro career. So, adjustment to the mean is coming there.

There's a 2020 Stadium Club Chrome Wave Refractor ending today. It's an SSSP. By my count from the pack odds, there's only 10 but it's not numbered. I guess since its already at $100 whoever is bidding already knows how short printed it is? It's a shame they decided to use a format for that rare a card(Wave) that is going to make most people assume it isn't as rare as it is

If someone can check my math, I've got about 5000 base, 500 Refractors, Xfractors ? for that set

Refractors – (1:2 hobby, 1:2 blaster)
X-Fractors – (4 per blaster)
Wave Refractors – (1:113 hobby, 1:112 blaster)
Gold Refractors – /50 (1:27 hobby, 1:27 blaster)
Orange Refractors – /25 (1:31 hobby, hobby only)
Red Refractors – /5 (1:265 hobby, 1:264 blaster)
Superfractors – 1/1 (1:1,133 hobby, 1:1,325 blaster)

If these are accurate, then compare red to wave. 265/113 = ~2.35x more rare are the red refractors. 264/112 = ~2.35x. So 2.35 x /5 red = ~12 each of the wave.

27/113 = .2389 * 50 = ~12 wave (using /50 gold odds, still getting 12 wave)

Do not believe him being a DH will hurt is card prices. However his numbers do have to be a lot better than a player in the field.

But as far as Yordan cards I own, only Finest Flashbacks. I did lose that last PSA 10 FF Refractor on eBay a few weeks ago. Wasn't strong enough at the end. A Dynasty logo/patch would be nice though.

He's still a great buy. An article I read stated that he's having issues with breaking balls right now. Dusty decided not to start him for todays game to hopefully get his mind right.
