Should Arraez sit for the final two games, Ohtani could win the triple crown with the following batting lines: 6-for-8, 6-for-9, 6-for-10, 6-for-11. Going 5-for-7 would tie it.

As a big fan of both Ohtani and Arraez - Arraez is hurt lol. As in, he is literally playing with a torn ligament in his thumb, and perennially terrible knees that are always broken down by the end of the season. It's not something new or unique to this year, his body just does not hold up well. Pair that with the Padres having literally nothing to play for and it's an easy decision to give him some rest (you know, along with Tatis and Merrill and Cronenworth). I'm sure the Padres will have some of their main guys sit out tomorrow as well

By the way, Arraez is hitting .341 this month. I'm sure he'd love to be in the lineup
