I am surprised no one read this, so I will re-post. Fun analysis of what ails Soto (bad luck + pitchers exploiting weakness)

I believe Soto’s 1/2 half ended at almost the same 125 wRC+ last year, before his 199 wRC+ 2nd half.

Good article - he'll make the proper adjustments. Im guessing he'll start to crowd the plate more when pitchers are expected to throw outside junk

Good article for sure. And not from a hobby point of view but rather simple analytics. Just an odd lick stretch for a great player combined with the pointed need for a few adjustments. I believe he will be fine. On the hobby side there have been some interesting high end (4 figure sales) over the past week. These are smart buyers if you ask me. I’d probably stay away from the update paper and chrome. But whoever bought the Gatorade bath us300 variation made a wise purchase.

Just think about the money you bagholders would have made by selling during preseason hype.

Worse drag coefficient hurting opposite field hits. I like that! That's what I'm going to blame.

I know his start to this season may be worse than last, but in 2021 he didn't really catch fire until after the All Star break. Hopefully he takes part in the HRD again this year (and hopefully Ohtani DOESN'T).

His wRC+ in 1st half of 2021 was almost identical to this year, so far… so this start isn’t really any worse.

And then he was on fire in the 2nd half.

He can do it again!

You do realize that the majority of people here bought back in 2018/2019, right? We're not the collecting majority.

How will I ever recover the cost of my PSA 10 HMT55's that I'm fully into for like $20/each with grading fees? Oh no!
If I'm a betting man, and I am. I would bet this is not true. There is some
big dollars tied up here with Soto.

Why you keep posting about buying early? Like who cares. It’s just as important when you sell

Because it matters and doesn't make everyone here a "bagholder". Just clarifying that not selling in the last offseason doesn't mean everyone here is underwater.

not sure why so many are worried about "when you sell"

you sell when you need the funds for real life bills
