Exactly right, this isn’t anything we haven’t seen. Also, am I the only one that’s always wondering if he’s swinging Julio Franco’s old bat ? Seems like that thing’s a 40 oz.‘er ?

Doesn't mean you hit him second in a lineup that's on a team that's "contending". If he was on Baltimore or the Reds that would be fine, let him work out his struggles, but he's costing the BJ's games right now.

Bought mlb tv this year just so i could watch Bo more. Right now he’s not catching up to the fast ball. He’s fouling off to many fast balls in the zone and every at bat seems like he’s down 0-2 and then chases a ball out of the zone.
Once he locks in and he will , he will start punishing baseballs. Positive notes he’s becoming a leader type player and his mom is still hot.

Today in the Astros 2 spot is 2/23 Niko Goodrum.

That is all.

When Teo is back, I would go:

Springer
Vlad
Teo
Lourdes
Bo
Chapman
…..

I don’t like Vlad batting second.

Espinal would be great there, with Bichette batting fourth or fifth—he did his best work last year while batting fourth. But fifth would be the better spot, because Teoscar should hit in front of him.

I like Santi in the 2 spot. Good thought. Bo should be 5 for now until he gets his #@#@#@#@ sorted

Pretty sure I said this too well before the grand slam that got everyone thinking he was going to go on fire. His free swinging is costing the Jays opportunities to score runs. He is not a table setter until he can take a pitch or show more discipline at the plate

Either
A- the manager has seen him work in the cage and believes he's about to break out of it
B- the manager fears that lowering him in the order will make him butthurt and sulky
Let's hope that at his age that isn't the case. I'd hate to think he has a superstar attitude already at 24?

Seeing eye hit there. Hopefully a few fall here and there and he wakes up

Or he lead the league in hits last year, the lineup is depleted by injury and the season is 21 games old... I mean. This is reading like a Twitter comment thread.

The order could change. It might at some point. Bo Bichette is good.

I think I need to retire from this thread for while again.

Of course he's good. That's why he has his own thread with thousands of comments and tons of fans.
There isn't a player in the league who is exempt from these comments when struggling. Just like any HR is celebrated, periods of ineffectiveness will be commented on as well. Mentioning that Espinal is a better fit for a struggling Bo for the 2 spot is pretty valid IMO.

Both he and Soto had rough starts last year but surged hard in the second half.

My faith shall not Wander (see what I did there?).

He'll end the year with 3x knocks at a .3xx clip.

Even with his struggles, he's still carrying at xBA of over .285. Bo's been underwhelming thus far this season, but he's also had his fair share of bad luck.

Bo is on fire and should have lead off today.

Shall we discuss moving him up in the order now?

And now batting over .250 almost .700 ops, whoever doubts Bo just doesn’t know.

I just don’t think he’s a leadoff/second hitter. Dropping him to cleanup or fifth isn’t exactly a banishment to the nether regions of the hitting-challenged. It just means his game is more suited for a different spot in the order. (He did quite well batting fourth last year.)

I'm mostly playing. Though I don't see how Bo doesn't hit in the top third of the order. Too many at bats given up over a season at 4/5.

Right now 4 guys in the AL have more hits than Bo. What are we, a week from talk that he is costing us games?

Espinal
Vlad
Teoscar
Bo
Lourdes
Chapman
Collins/Tapia
Kirk

However, they really need an impact left-handed bat somewhere higher up. Collins, Biggio and Tapia are nice role players, but none is that guy. (And Zimmer just isn’t happening.)

Back in the 2 hole, outstanding game on both sides of the ball for our hero.

Bo is good at baseball.

I'd love to see him finish out May on a strong note.
