We had to call our 2nd game off at halftime tonight. Only the last play, a kid was trying to recover a fumble and suffered a severely broken arm. It was horrible, his arm was bent back behind him, he wouldn't stop moving so we could try and help him, and the screaming oh man the screaming. That screaming will stay in my head a while. I've dealt with a lot of broken bones over the years, but this was the worst. His arm was basically jello. Coach from the other team is a emt and had his bag so he was able to splint it.

I wrote the Naval Station Newport Fire Department to see if I could come by Monday morning to photograph their apparatus. They have a Pierce Ascendant Tower.
