Got my order back yesterday. Sent 2/12, arrived back to me on 4/8, about a month ahead of schedule so not too bad. Got fourteen 10's and two 9's so happy with the results as well.

Out of the blue i get a message that my grades are ready. Thought maybe it was a Value Plus sub that popped early but no was this LOL. how is this even possible!!!! 2 Value submissions one received 2/7/25 (still in R&I) and other 2/26/25 (Finished)??
Only thing i can think of is the 2/26/25 submission was sent in the same box with a value plus submission?

Cant complain though. 3 cards and 3 gems (2-2024 prizm football, 1 football rated rookie)

I love how PSA just makes things up to save face.

"Turnaround Clock: Your TAT begins once your submission enters the “Order Prep” stage — you’ll receive a “Package Received” email when this happens." It's taking around a month for them to go from receiving to order prep.

The TAT should begin the day PSA receives the order. They're just making stuff up because they are bozo's with a backlog and are trying to make it seem like they're not backed up.

Agreed and then stuff sits in research for a month. If you are using less fast services, don’t be In a rush and hopefully it is not time sensitive.

Using comc's PSA service has been relatively fast

Sure, it sucks to have our cards sit in an arrival queue for a month. At least they are sitting securely as we packaged them in the boxes we sent to PSA rather than getting handled as soon as they get there and then being less secure as they wait weeks/months to be entered into system (R&ID).

Just saying, it's their business to manage and they maintain majority market share and market dominance for reselling. None of our opinions matter until that changes.

Sure, maybe our opinions leading to actions can lead to such changes.

Lots of people, including myself, say they'll stop grading for a while or start using different grading services. Definitely options on the table. But will it matter? My gut says 'no' and the status quo will continue.

I've received email status updates late into the evening back in August during the Nationals rush. Makes me think they have extended hours lately. Still looks like they respect weekends off though.

Yet to see anyone from the big 4 mention rising costs and delays due to tariffs on Chinese Imports. As far as I know, all major grading companies source their slabs from China

Honestly, they're making money hand over fist, and the cost of slabs is a very small part of the cost to sub. I can't see it really impacting their bottom line at all. I mean, how much are these each in bulk? 10 cents? 25 cents? Even if they had to pay 100% increase per slab, that would be 50 cents instead of 25. It might affect the smaller graders a little, but I can't see it affecting PSA at all, considering with 1.4 million subs in a month x at least 18 dollars per card, that's 25 million dollars income and even at .5 each slab, that's only 7 million for slab costs, as compared to 3.5. I mean, yes, it eats into their profits, but that's even if everybody subs at 18 dollars a card and we know that's not the case. They're probably pulling in 30-40 million a month at that many subs.

I don't imagine plastic is expensive or exclusive to China.

Worse case scenario, 300% of a ten-cent piece of plastic is 30 cents or 40 cents if additive.

In other news....

90-day pause on tariffs was just announced except for China.

PSA could resume orders from countries other than China but future tariffs are too uncertain for now. What happens after 90 days?

That's what needs to happen next, clear time-defined tariff agreements for businesses to not be exposed to excessive risk.

For sure, slab costs are minimal in the equation, but any increases in costs will be passed along to the consumer. I don't see Collectors eating these.

I believe the bigger concern (outside of the uncertainties of escalating tariffs) is delays at the ports as more importers refuse shipments, thus creating backlogs.

Guess we shall see

The plastic isn't, but the designs are based off patented molds. Any production change creates timely and costly delays.

Sure. Great time to NOT change things that result in extra import costs.

This has always been the case. The clock doesn't officially start till it hits research.

Nat said in an interview that PSA sources their slabs domestically. I believe it was with NEO.
