Wanted to post this again in hopes that someone in here knows the answer, thank you:

Random question and didnt want to create a thread for this but at some point in the previous months didn't PSA say they were removing the inner sleeves from thick cards when they grade them? I know they were having issues with some of the holders and maybe this is still ongoing. I just have a few PSA cards that I would like to be re-slabbed at some point once that inner sleeve is removed, it just makes the slab look much worse with that plastic in there.

Dang, 65 business days. If you sub one today, gets there tomorrow, then it sits there for a month before they even put it in order prep, that means it wouldn't be done until early August. Seems the other companies are going to be getting more business soon.

Not to derail this thread, but it is crazy to think we've gotten to the point where Beckett with subgrades is cheaper now than any bulk services at PSA.

Let's hope there is some backlash from their customer base and they see submissions decrease and an increase to the other companies. The card grading industry is so crazy, in where the industry leader is literally the worst in customer service, pricing, and can keep kicking you in the junk repeatedly, but we keep coming back for me.

This will 100% effect GS submissions as well I would bet as the blowback would be huge if their orders went to the front of the line. And I would expect them to raise prices to $20.99 soon as well which is odd because that is their Other Card grading tier price.

I was just waiting on a few cards to prep a big order this week of One Piece so guess I'll be creating that one today now.

Yup that's a good point, been almost a month and my order has been sitting there with zero movement. BGS might get a second chance at this rate.

I have two orders (one March regular special and the other value plus) that both arrived Weds 3/26.

March regular special order still in Research and ID
Estimated completion 4/10

Value plus already at green check mark assembly since Friday 4/4
Estimated completed 4/24

PSA! Make it make sense! Why is the plus going to finish first

Did they update your estimated completion after the 3rd came and went, or does it still show that date?

Still shows the 3rd; I don’t think it updates until just before it ships out

Over 2 months for R&ID? Did you have a lot of stuff that wasn't in their system, or a lot of autos?

ETA: Wait, grading took over two months. Really need to make sure I have enough coffee in the morning before replying to posts

Got the notification that my grades were ready at 8:02am EST. So they either got to the office early, they work over night, or they send these in "batches" first thing in the morning. I dont know.

Wait, when people post this, are the dates we're using when posting the date that it went into that status, or the date that it was completed at that status? Looks like I've been thinking it's the date it completed, but maybe I've confused myself? So, you went into R&ID on 2/18, right? Probably would be good to make sure I'm looking at it all right

My ~250 card submission has been in R&ID since 2/7, so i'm over 2 months.

I reached out to PSA yesterday asking if there was any hold up on my order and they basically said the equivalent of "your order is fine, no need to ask us to investigate until it's 5 business days past the estimated completion date and your service tier is 50 business days and you're at business day ~40." (my estimated completion is mid-April).

Even though my cards arrived on 1/10 and they've had everything for 3 months total, that first month from Order Arrived (1/10) > Order Prep/R&ID (2/7) doesn't factor into their business days turnaround time (most people know this but just a reminder).

All that said...do I think i'm getting my order back in the next 2 weeks when it hits its estimated completion date, considering I haven't even hit grading yet? Not a snowball's chance in hell.

I guess I could see why a 250 card order would take longer, can't very well hold up all orders for the large ones to finish. It's just an odd way of doing things in my mind. Of course, I've only had one submission that's been completed, and that was a Value Plus order for 7 cards back in September through October. My first bulk sub is in R&ID as of this past Saturday, and I'm really not looking forward to having to potentially wait 2 more months just to get to grading. Although, it might be better since I might make more selling what's going to be sold closer to the football season? Maybe it's a blessing in disguise...

I don' t even think that's how PSA does it lol...a 250 card order shouldn't hold up anything, especially when 75% of the submission are modern/ultra modern TCG from 2023-2024...

But yeah. It's a large order, sure...but if they actually have a system where they grade on FIFO + service level then the card amount technically shouldn't matter, as it has to get done regardless. If anything, large submissions should be prioritized and incentivized so they get less packages with high dollar total grading costs + upcharge potential associated with them rather than a thousand submissions of 2-5 cards each going through the process, imo.

No FIFO for PSA. PSA's pecking order is as follows:

1) High dollar tiers
2) 4 Sharp Corners
3) GameStop

4) Everyone else. Especially us lowly bulk submitters.

Oh, you misunderstood me...by PSA using "FIFO" I meant, "First in, fck off."
