One of you clowns need to buy my Ohtani rookies so I don't have to figure out how to sell on ebay after all these years.

This is why WAR is a bogus stat. A HR against a pitching 1B when you're up by 10 runs is worth EXACTLY 0 wins over replacement. WARetards need to get it through their thick skulls.

Welcome back! I was mentioning you earlier but couldn’t remember your username. Thank you for reminding me!

They are congratulating you on the epic Ohtanis you are sniping on the bay right now. So technically still on topic.

Ok pal, you're going to defend the guy padding his stats by hitting homers off players who aren't even pitchers, be my guest. Might as well start counting batting practice homers.

This is why you NEVER EVER let computer geeks anywhere close to your front office. Send them back to the computer lab with their pocket protectors, FAR AWAY from your team. A HR is not a HR is not a HR. Each is different, each has context. Some players are chokers, some are stat padders, some are CLUTCH CITY like Reggie Jackson.

Let's see how Ohtani does in the playoffs. He can't be worse than Trout.

In for 10…for $4.97 each from an eBay seller, not $9 from Topps/Fanatics.

They will never receive another @#$&ing CENT of my money.

Crap, this reminds me that I still need to acquire 2 or 3 Ohtani autos for some incomplete sets. Ugh, someone shoot me.

2) The entire announcing sequence of them openly pining for one last Ohtani AB and then openly cheering when Taylor got a knock. Also, kudos to Taylor for being clutch with that. Turned an historic day into an unforgettable one. And then, on HR 51 Joe Davis's "Oh My Gosh, Shohei Ohtani... The greatest day in baseball history."

3) I know we all can recite his line from the game but just go take a peak at it on ESPN. It looks like a line from MLB The Show when playing on the easy settings.
Great post.

In addition, I would like to mention the comment of the Marlins announcers (I am paraphrasing):

"Among his many skills, is to make people who are paid to speak, to have no words."

So Shohei should just intentionally strike out or something??? This is a major league team embarrassing themselves by walking out a position player to pitch to major league hitters, of course they should light him up. Maybe MLB should implement a mercy rule LOL

Awesome game and remarkable performance but if he would’ve gotten injured in his last at bat while the team was up 14-3 the tone of this thread would be completely different. I know you can’t play scared of getting injured but taking precautions will come in handy.

Does anyone think we might start to see a premium on his low numbered 2024 stuff? I’m starting to think year one Shohei as a Dodger after this historic season might see quite the run up over the years.

Folks, I am six figures deep into Ohtani. You can cool it with the hater accusations.

Ohtani is a generational talent.
It's a bad look to hit homers off first basemen when your team is up 11 runs.
Both things can be true.

I am here I would be drinking anyways anything Ohtani does or doesn’t do has no affect on me. I already changed my tone but people are still bringing up a thread that is over 6 years old. I applauded his performance just saying there really was no need for his last at bat which is he somehow got injured would’ve been a bigger talking point than his performance today.
