I watched the opposition to Obama while living in rural Texas. Now I'm watching the opposition to Trump from a university humanities department.

My conclusion? People are people. And nothing makes them act more alike than fear, anger, and hate.

As an independent living in a Democratic state, I've crossed party lines numerous times in the past.

It's unfortunate that we have such unremarkable individuals running among both parties, this county is in trouble and based on the current representation has increasingly become the laughing stock for many a nation.

I often wonder how folks who have served in the military feel about the general disrespect that has been shown to them as well as their peers.

It's insulting to watch and hear how career military personnel have been treated. The general disregard for these men and women has to be a slap in their face, all the while as they are repeatedly told as to just how much they are appreciated and respected.

My parents lived overseas for many years under the Trump Presidency. Guess what? My parents would have random people come up to them all the time telling them it must be great having a President who puts their countries priorities ahead of everyone else in the world. My parents traveled all over Europe for 2 years so this wasn't confined to 1 general area. My dad said its a misconception that Europeans hate the United States and Donald Trump when in fact its the very opposite.

My assumption (IE: hope) is that we'll see a defined fracture in each major party that creates two larger "majority" parties and two fringe outlier parties.

90+% of the country operates in the middle. Leaning left or leaning right, but agreeing on the vast majority of matters.

The noisy fringes get the attention and make the biggest stink...and need to be relegated to where they belong...still with a voice, but not 50% of the power.

There is no willing correction of course at this point. We are too far gone and too divided.

If there is a correction it will be because of tragedy/calamity not because we recognize an issue and take willing steps to correct it.

Yes, it was tweeted by Reuters...as evidenced by the fact that it is indeed still up on the verified Reuters Twitter feed.

The Seth Rich story has been debunked by everyone credible, Fox News retracted their stories less than a week after airing them.

The download speed theory has also long been accounted.
