Yeah, the late 70s through the 80s were the best.

We had lunch with the Colonel that runs our department. He's a fun guy. When your Division Chief begins a story with "I used to work for a mail" and the Colonel looks at him with the same dirty thoughts as my wife and I, you know he's cool.

It is amazing when you think back the things as kids we used to do, home made bike ramps, jumping off of roofs with umbrellas ring and run prank phone calls. Things todays kids will never have the fun of experiencing.

We jumped off a roof into a five foot deep above ground pool. You had to cannonball in or else you would probably have broken a leg. Fun times!

At night we would throw water balloons at sports cars and pickup trucks.

Those were the ones that would chase you!

They used to have above ground train stations in Staten Island that we would hang out on and drop eggs onto the cars driving below. I think how dangerous and stupid it was now but back then it was just stupid teenage pranks.

There wouldn’t have been any water left in the pool either.

Worst we ever did was to stand on a bridge over the lake, flash cars going by, then jump off the bridge. Males and females took part in this, and it was the days before cameras were everywhere. We got caught once because a guy chickened out on the jump part. Didn't get in trouble, the people just said "be careful" and went on their way.

Had an investment property offered to me. It's a former rental, they are asking $4,000 down and $360 a month. I asked them to give me the total they are asking and I'm waiting to hear back. I already know it needs a roof and some of the sheetrock inside needs replacing, but if I can get it cheap and put about 25K into it to make a property I can rent for $1,500-2,000 a month I may jump on it.

It's a 4 bedroom, 2 bath with decent size in a decent neighborhood.

knock off the last two zeros of those numbers and you could become the new landlord to the BOO clan

I decided to skip the Manchester parade today. It had a lot to do with the 2 hour, 40 minute drive to go 80 miles in stop and go traffic.

I also figure that I'll probably get the exact same apparatus at the Reese parade 2 weeks from now.

Our Chief is at the final procession meeting for tomorrow right now and is going to give me the final draft of the route when they are done. Our county must be dumping tons of stuff as Waldorf, Hughesville, and La Plata have coverage crews coming in from Fairfax County and DC.

Tempting, but I have a feeling the cleanup after them would be terrible.

I think real estate is the next thing I go in big on. 1 thing they aren't making is more land, so it's always a good investment.
