LOL, no.

Did people remember only the Reds and White Sox days when Griffey went in on the first ballot? When Pujols flies into the HOF in a couple of years, are people going to be confused because they only remember him as an Angel?

I really hope he can stay healthy for a period of time and put up a couple more great seasons. If he doesn't his spot in the HOF is already reserved.

So glad I sold most of my stuff. His card values will be on the Pujols track, a slow drop to irrelevance, with a small bump at the end of his career as people evaluate his HOF chances or he gets to play for a playoff team.

Sad news he didn’t even know when it happened. Wish him the best. Wanted to see him on the field against Harper tonight.

Lebron getting the gentleman's sweep and Trout going out in a 24 hour span. Brutal day for the fans of the overrated modern superstars.

He’s my favorite Player ever ~ watching his body not keep up with his talent is truly heartbreaking….

Sad to hear it, not shocked though as the it's been the unfortunate trend for Fish.

LA should just move him to DH full-time starting next season and be done with it.

His WAR increased but his greatest value of being in the lineup helping the odds of the team winning is gone. If WAR would negate non-availability to it’s format, the value of some players would dramatically change !

I’ve always stated that the peak of the majority of superstars in their skill set ends at 32. Some go earlier some last a little longer. Trout had a rough season last year. If he does come back, it will be at 33 attempting to overcome knee surgery.

Having a player weighing 240 lbs going in at over 20 mph into a stationary bag is a risk. Look at the top 10 leaders in stolen bases and they are roughly 155-185 lbs and I’m not sure they were as fast as Mike. I’ve always stated it was never worth the risk unless it came in the playoffs when needed.
Nobody wants another person to be injured, but instead of a personal trainer, how about hiring a expert on body mechanics ? How many years has he came into the season looking like a linebacker and yet is disabled due to injury ?

His accounting stats if he doesn’t come back this season are going to look much more like Dale Murphy’s then many members would have thought 5 years ago.

Folks may think it's silly, but look into what TB12 did post 35.

Agree with Stifle, his current body frame isn't doing him any favors.

Maybe Trout should stop eating tomatoes and start eating avocado ice cream.

At this point, does he even get to 2500 hits and 500 homeruns?

Man these injuries are brutal

Griffey also had a massive playoff series vs the Yankees to take them out. Pujols was a Post Season MVP winner with a great POST Season WPA. They both had something other than regular season greatness.

The fact Stanton lasted longer than Trout this season blows my mind.

I was really excited to see his 35 HR 52 RBI season.

Maybe next year.

Yes, unfortunately for Yankees fans. Dude has to be the slowest runner around the bases in the league.

You just reminded me of that slide into second base the other day...I forget which game, but he dang near killed himself with the worst slide that I think I have ever seen.

Griffey just as ringless as Tony Gwynn and Gwynn went to the World Series with Ken Caminiti and Co. Nobody cares about "massive playoff series" people on blowout care about World Series rings.

Juan Soto is the only current hobby darling with an EARNED World Series ring.

Ohtani doesn't have one, Acuńa doesn't have one (the participation trophy does not count).

Miguel Cabrera (Only triple crown winner in last 56+ years) 3174 hits 511 career HRs. Should be mentioned in this group

There are 2 players with a career .300 avg, 500 home runs, 3000 hits and 600 doubles. Hank Aaron and Miguel Cabrera.

Trout is solidly into Albert Puhols territory at this point. He had a bad season last year (before the injury) and is not having a good season this year either. His greatest ability, the ability to walk, has left. he is now a swing from the heels type. He will be a Kingman, Adam Dunn type to finish out his career.

240 pound CFers have a very short shelf life. he should have been moved to either LF or DH years ago, and not just for longevity. He has not been a good CFer for years, but has gotten the Jeter treatment.
I would be very surprised to see him back before the all star break, and would not be surprised if we don't see him back until spring training. Trout has a history of being a very slow healer.

Trout is a sure fire Hall of Famer with a first ballot induction.

At one time, he was looking to have career stats like Mantle, Aaron, or Griffey.
Now it's looking to be more like Kiner or Killebrew. That's still great company.
His flagship RC US175 in say a PSA 10 grade is still a great card to own.
I think they will settle in at around $300-$400 when all is said and done.

Dude is a dump truck on the bases. John Kruk could out run Stanton around the bases.

I know what his numbers are. My only point was if this meniscus tear were to end his career, he's going into the HOF.

Same. I watch nearly every Trout at bat.

Now I won't even turn on the game until he's back in the lineup.
