Where I'm from that's a standard Brown - some of the ones on the college campus eat like kings and are nearly the size of small cats! The reds are always teeny little guys, super-quick, like to scold people with chattering, and are incredibly destructive if they get in your house.

Been in the house all day in the air conditioning, hopefully the next storm doesn’t knock the power out. Just like the cold never really bothers me coming from New York I still can’t get used to Mississippi summers even though I have lived here over 20 years. I am okay though I have plenty of ice cold beers to get me by.

I just saw on the weather that the heat index was 115 today down there. The older I get, the more I hate the heat.

I had a friend that I take fire apparatus photos with had both his Grandfather and Uncle shot and killed in Norrisville, MD tonight. One of our other firefighter friends was listening to it on the scanner and when he said what road, our friend had a bad feeling.

Turns out it was the guy who re-did the deck and he was high on something. He ran into his Aunt's house and screamed at them to get out of his house. He tackled the Uncle and pulled a gun. Aunt went running next door to get my friend's Grandfather. His uncle was shot while this was going on. Grandfather comes in and fires a warning shot and is killed immediately.

Suspect fled and is still at large.

Apparently, Verizon installed a bunch of new towers and it's messing with our internet. When they thought it was an issue on our end, they were not going to send someone out until Tuesday. Now, that's its probably on their end, someone is coming out today. It took me 3 calls to finally get someone to understand the issue I was trying to present.

It wouldn't be another day on "As the Tritty's Turns" without my wife getting into an argument with her Mom; on her birthday no less. They were arguing about Jill being up early with everything she does which then led to the "you need to get rid of the crap in your room so we can sell this house." That eventually led to the "you just need to leave and go back to your house."

I cannot watch my favorite sporting event of the year, the Tour de France because it is now only streaming on peacock. I refuse to pay for any streaming services, even if I could afford them

, because I just don't watch that much tv. If I could watch it free online somewhere, I would.
