Edit: TBH, I don't like Sho's swing right now. Long and it looks like he's trying to hit homers. He needs time to achieve the milestone and get his contact swing/plate discipline sharpened for playoffs.

He’s probably worried about winning the MVP. Don’t you remember mcscooter or whatever his name was?

Ohtani probably read his post about his sources saying he’s not a lock for MVP and got stressed out.

I would edit this to:

Pedigree is more important than print run, and both are more important than grade. But PSA 10s are kind of nice.

With the subtext of "Today's PSA 9 can be tomorrow's PSA 10!"

Remember when BGS 9.5s were better than PSA 10s?

For all we know 5-10 years from now we'll be saying "remember when PSA 10s were better than <insert grading company here> 10s?"

Maybe I'm just too cynical but I still believe the grade of "gem mint" is a fabrication by grading companies to siphon more money out of the hobby.

If you enjoy 10s, don't let me rain on your parade though. Heck, keep chasing them and sell me your fine 9s and great 8s.

I'll be clear and state that the only reason(s) I have a lot of 10s is 1) I graded them, 2) It's the only respectable copy I could find, 3) I sold a 10 to buy a 10, 4) The card is incredibly condition sensitive where the grade really means something.

If I had to do it all over in 2024, I would not buy high-end 10s by choice. I like them, but they are expensive.

Yup. I remember buying PSA over BGS because I wanted to be “different”. BGS 9.5’s reigned king and PSA was thought of as vintage only.

Fine 9’s, great 8’s and dare I say sexy 7’s!

My thought of mind is that you should be targeting cards where who grades it at what grade matter less than how cool the card is.

Nice pickup /99. All in for the cost of a blaster.

Cool image, 1st Dodger Uni, /99, nice color combo with the red accents & pop 1 (for now).

Better than a Chrome blaster that's for sure.

Hard to call that a bad buy. Still possible to enjoy the hobby without selling your house

Interesting that this would be auctioned without MLB certification.

I bet it goes for way less than it would with an MOB cert.
