RZH2 is, to the best of my knowledge, please correct me if I’m wrong, is the only one that was flat out banned from the bloody disgusting boards to discuss. The problem is the film seems to be simultaneously bad and good. Has me a bit worried about his upcoming munsters film.

I think H2 has become hip to like. When that came out, I couldn’t find anyone who liked it. Rob was just flat out wrong for the franchise. I hope The Munsters isn’t chock full of red necks and white trash because every other movie he’s made is.

It’s better than the original part 2, part 5, the theatrical cut of 6, and resurrection. I’m holding off final judgment on the newest trilogy because I want to be removed from the hype/hatred and see if it ties together as a cohesive narrative. Supposedly it was written as a trilogy in mind. I thought the 18 film was a great ending but I felt the same way about H20.

Maybe not a pure horror movie, but I rented Titane on Prime last night and it was very weird… in a good way! I kept thinking about it throughout the day today and I think I will watch another movie by the same director tonight called Raw. That one is streaming for free on Netflix and has also received some good buzz.

A little late to the party, but I finally watched It Follows the other day. Pretty good, not great, I enjoyed the dreariness of the film.

Having watched Raw after Titane, I agree with you that Raw is the better film. I think I will def be looking out for all future movies that the director makes.

I was able to hunt down the directors first short film on YouTube that features the main actress from Raw. It shares the same themes of Raw/Titane and is worth a watch.

That was definitely solid but yeah, I didn't really get all the hype.

Finally watched Neon Demon after a few years. That was...interesting.

Watched Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City last night. I liked it, but I'm not sure how I feel about it compared to the other RE movies. I'm a huge RE fan, so I was kinda leery about a reboot movie. I've also read the book series by S.D. Perry. The character from the movie didn't quite match up to their characters in the books. Especially the Leon Kennedy character. The movie made him out to be much more incompetent than he is in the books. That being said I hope they make more. They left the door open for follow ups so I guess there's a chance.

I thought the movie could have been better. I remember playing the video game when it first came out and it actually scaring me as I played it. This movie really had no jump scares. The ending was just okay too. I didn't think it was a bad movie at all, just expected more from it.

For that movie's full impact to occur, you need to watch it extra loud, in the total dark, and in one sitting, uninterrupted, so that the nearly constant droning sound underneath the soundtrack has time to turn your stomach inside out just before the mother saws her own head off and her body floats into the eldritch tree house of horror.

Saw "Advent Calendar", a Shudder exclusive Christmas themed horror movie. Gore is decent, acting solid, and it's an idea I'm surprised no one came up with earlier. It's in French with subtitles, but the story's a good one, and will probably get an American remake, I could see Blumhouse giving it a go.

Down home horror host Joe Bob Briggs is still making his "Last Drive-In" specials for Shudder. The 2021 Christmas Special just premiered with a couple of good schlock movies (including "Gator Bait") each accompanied by a solid hour of Briggs' hilarious asides, aided by Darcy The Mail Girl.

His specials are probably my favorite part of Shudder.

With this hobby having gone too rich for my blood, I've been collecting physical media. Up to 236 movies

My latest purchase, which I hadn't seen yet, was Antlers. I usually like Del Toro's movies, so I copped sight unseen. I thought this was really good. One of the better Wendigo movies for sure. Good acting, scary atmosphere, cool creature. Definitely worth a look!

I’m hoping on hope that with the rights for Hellraiser going back to Barker we can get a big box set franchise encompassing set like we did for Friday the 13th and Halloween. If not, 250+ for a copy of deader. Ugh.

I cant do $250 for anything. Most I spent on one movie is about $135 for a real bluray copy of The Ritual. It only had a brazil release, and with it being a Netflix movie, no chance it comes out in America.

Well worth it. It looks amazing. Great movie! One of my favorites in the last few 10 years.

I thrift a lot and there are two VHS tapes, I regret selling as a horror movie fan. One was the original Halloween VHS tape that came with a Snowglobe as well with Michael Myers behind a couch with a knife that commemorated the 20th anniversary of the movie.

The other was a Wizard Video VHS of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, although this one was in the plastic clamshell and not the original paper sleeve.

Looking back, I wish I would have kept them both.

Loved the hell out of the new “Scream”. I’d let it rest after this though.

It has been stated that this new scream is part of a planned triligy.

My favorite part of Scream was easily how it ripped toxic fandom. Beautiful takedown on these people who claim Episode 8 ruined their childhood.

Easy 8.5-9/10

They’ve said nothing of the sort, and I’d be hard pressed to figure out where to go after this one.

I agree, let it rest. Not much more to add to that story.

I did watch Jack in the Box - Awakening and thought the story line was decent. The creature and the killing could have been a little better but probably could only do what they can do with the low budget.
