The first statement is false. It is better to get more 10s at a lower value than it is less at a higher value. It's the same as with the 1st Chrome Auto in Bowman Draft. The Super is by far the most valuable card, but it is the base auto that provides more value.

The card stock is much worse in 2021 than 2020, although I can't say specifically for the gold /2021 because I don't have any from 2020. One issue I've seen that has been specific to Bart's base is the left edge looks like it's been run over a cheese grater quite often. Centering is worse than last year (because borders, duh). I've actually rejected a few due to surface issues which is really rare for a paper card.

So far I'm 34 for 270 of setting aside for PSA with 2021 (31 base, 1 vintage stock, 1 gold foil, 1 '52 Chrome) . That's 12.7%, which is LOWER than my overall rate. I was definitely not expecting that since my 15-20% rate has held up across all years going all the way back to 2012 (for cards bought this offseason!).

ETA: The reason for the backwards quality I think is the most obvious, simple explanation. They had to print a lot more cards than normal in a lot tougher environment. Quality suffered as a result.

Price Update

Prices are down on the gold /2021 by about 28% since Feb 27. Only a handful of guys are up in that time frame. Bobby Dalbec and Luis Patino have both more than doubled. Pache, L.Garcia, and Pearson are at about 50% of where they were.

Tier 1-Alec Bohm as separated himself from the pack (or Pache, if you prefer).

Tier 2-Adell, Carlson, Pache. The top 4 looks about as expected.

Tier 3-Dalbec, Mountcastle.

Tier 4-Garcia, Anderson, Madrigal, Bart, Mize, McKenzie, Sixto-I really thought Bart would be inn Tier 3 or maybe even the back of Tier 2. I just picked up another nice one (Vintage Stock /99).

The Rest-E.White, Gimenez, Patino, Pearson, Ruiz, Paredes, Taveras, Jesus Sanchez.

Bought a copy of RBI baseball for my switch today and was happy to find a Tim Anderson foil card in there. Different pose with the old Topps logo on it and the RBI21 logo. Not sure if they usually do that or what.

That was known to going to happen for a while. With posey coming back and the giants signing a veteran backup, Bart gets a year in AAA to get ready for next year

Was very lucky and hit 10/50 out of my only blaster of 2021. Walked into target today and they had around 15 sitting. I snagged 1 and I do not think I will be needing anymore haha. Every dog has his day I must say

Just pulled this little gem from a Jumbo box. It came out if the last pack in the box. I caught the Jr. part and knew it had to be 1 of 2 possibilities. When I saw the 1/1, I literally hit the ceiling!! What a rush.

Wanted to get opinions. If you could choose either a hanger case of Series 1 or Chrome what would you choose? This would be for putting it away for a year or two at minimum.

Get what you like. I like flagship better than chrome but I think the market likes the opposite

Yikes! That is no bueno. This is going to be an awkward month while the MLB teams are playing and AAA isn't. Especially at his age this is really bad. I suppose the good thing is he can get hot against AAA pitching early in the season.

I noticed the garbage pail history of Topps card is worth a few bucks, something I would have assumed worth very little.

Any other surprises value wise in 2021 Topps a la McCutchen Sp, Pete Rose greatest seasons , etc ?
